Hello, I have a prepaid card in Orange and actually it is still IDEA (sim is about 15 years old - it has never been exchanged). Theoretically, everything works, but there are strange anomalies, namely the quality of conversations is sometimes unacceptable: echo, crackling, tearing words. The second drawback is that when someone calls me, it happens that they hear: "The user has switched off the phone or is out of range" and I know that I had coverage then because I had the phone in my hands. With a real lack of coverage I would receive a text message that someone wanted to contact me but there is no text message at the time. On the old phone, such circuses took place so I think the phone's fault, so I changed it and for half a year there was peace and again "paranormal" phenomena. I read that the sim may catch some errors and this can cause problems. The first time I hear about some errors I was of the opinion, if the card logs in, everything with it is 100% ok but I think I was wrong? Did someone have something similar that theoretically "functional" sim card was to blame? Soon I will go to the operator, I hope that he will replace the card for free?
PS
With this quality of conversations, I normally became paranoid and began to blame and diagnose the calls of family members. I tested the phone replacement (3 different models) for 1 person in the family and there was no significant improvement (while I cleaned the phones for others). This card what I have is the old generation so maybe you need a more modern one today? The card is old but even somehow Orange did remotely that LTE works without changing the card.
