I warmly welcome. I have a problem with kiano elegance 5.1 After updating the software on the phone, it stopped working properly, rather rarely acting. I would like to re-write softly but I have never done this and I do not know how, I did not find any information in google. Hard reset does not help. I would be grateful for the hint because the phone is not used

It pops up something like "proinfo: failed to get PMT info." and the phone has stopped turning on.

Check the battery voltage. After clicking on the download, you are just connecting the switched off phone.

I know that the topic is as old as the world, but I do not want to assume a new thread that is meaningless. I want to restart my kiano elegance pro 5.1, because another phone is being repaired, but despite doing everything according to the instructions, flashtool does not remove the turned off phone. Nothing works. Attempt to enter the settings also. The kiano logo appears and nothing else. Is there any way to upload the software and run this crap or trash?

    Well-installed drivers are the basis.
You can try with the battery disconnected.

FAQ

TL;DR: Fix Kiano Elegance 5.1 flashing issues by ensuring drivers load and letting SP Flash Tool complete its 300,000 ms USB scan timeout; the log shows "Connecting to BROM..." before detection. [Elektroda, dsekowska13, post #19792816]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps owners who ask “how do I fix SP Flash Tool not seeing my phone after a bad update or hard reset?”

Quick Facts

How do I reflash a Kiano Elegance 5.1 that misbehaved after an update?

Use SP Flash Tool with the proper firmware package. Start Download, then connect the powered‑off phone. Follow any key combo prompts. This restores partitions when a hard reset fails. If detection stalls, review drivers and USB cable. The thread confirms SP Flash Tool is the required utility and provides a firmware link. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16773860]

What does “proinfo: failed to get PMT info.” mean and how do I fix it?

It signals the tool can’t read the phone’s partition layout. Causes include mismatched firmware or bad connection. Re‑load the correct firmware, use Firmware Upgrade mode, and reconnect as instructed. Ensure drivers load when you plug in the powered‑off device. [Elektroda, daro.ltd, post #16774116]

SP Flash Tool doesn’t detect the phone—what should I check first?

Check that Windows installed the right MediaTek drivers. Without them, SP Flash Tool never sees preloader or BROM ports. As one expert put it, “Well‑installed drivers are the basis.” Reinstall drivers, try a different USB port, and avoid hubs. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #19792805]

Which button combo helps the PC detect this phone for flashing?

Connect the handset powered off while holding Volume Up. Keep holding until SP Flash Tool starts the download stage. Release after the progress bar begins. This nudges preloader detection on many MTK devices. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #19794202]

Do I connect the phone before or after pressing Download in SP Flash Tool?

Press Download first. Then, with the phone fully powered off, plug it in to USB. This order lets the tool catch the brief preloader window. If it still fails, recheck drivers and cable. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16774235]

Device Manager shows nothing when I plug in—what now?

If there’s zero reaction, the driver never binds or the phone doesn’t enter preloader. Reinstall drivers, try another USB port and cable, and connect with the phone off while holding Volume Up. Avoid charging‑only cables. [Elektroda, dsekowska13, post #19792841]

Is a hard reset enough to recover from a bad update on Elegance 5.1?

No. A hard reset wipes user data but does not replace damaged firmware or partitions. Use SP Flash Tool with the proper firmware to re‑write the system. That’s why the thread shifts to flashing guidance. [Elektroda, daro.ltd, post #16773833]

Can I see a simple 3‑step how‑to for SP Flash Tool with this phone?

  1. Load the provided Elegance 5.1 firmware in SP Flash Tool and click Download.
  2. With the phone powered off, hold Volume Up and connect USB.
  3. Wait for the progress to finish, then disconnect and boot. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16773860]

What is SP Flash Tool in this context?

SP Flash Tool is the MediaTek flashing utility mentioned in the thread. It writes firmware to MTK devices like the Elegance 5.1. You use it to restore a non‑booting phone after a failed update or reset. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16773860]

I see “Connecting to BROM…” and a long wait—how long is normal?

The log shows a USB search timeout of 300,000 ms, or five minutes. Allow the scan to complete before retrying. If it keeps timing out, reinstall drivers and use a direct motherboard USB port. [Elektroda, dsekowska13, post #19792816]

Battery tips: should I disconnect or check voltage before flashing?

Low voltage can block preloader startup. Check battery voltage. If detection still fails, try connecting with the battery temporarily disconnected, then reconnect once the tool starts. Use caution to avoid shorts. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16774235]

SP Flash Tool still doesn’t start the download—any other edge cases?

Some units only enumerate when Volume Up is held during plug‑in. Others require reinstalling the driver after each attempt. Persistent no‑detection suggests cable or port issues. Try a new cable and a rear USB port. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #19794202]

Is there a different firmware for Elegance Pro 5.1 versus Elegance 5.1?

Yes. The thread warns to verify you don’t have the Pro version. Flashing mismatched builds can trigger PMT or boot issues. Confirm the exact model before proceeding. [Elektroda, siudziu, post #17142406]

Where did the firmware and tool come from in this discussion?

A participant shared a firmware package link and stated you should use SP Flash Tool. Always verify integrity before flashing and match your exact device variant. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16773860]

My phone only shows the Kiano logo—can flashing still revive it?

Yes. Boot‑loop at the logo can result from corrupted system files. Follow the SP Flash Tool procedure with correct drivers and Volume Up connection to re‑write firmware. [Elektroda, dsekowska13, post #19792723]
