    Hello

Today I bought a SpecAir HL275 / 50 compressor in castorama, for typical home / garage use.
The compressor was supposed to be already flooded with a special oil for "lapping" which should be replaced after 5 hours of operation, but neither in the set nor in the instructions itself, there is no "lapping" but the flooding of the compressor with oil to ISO VG100 piston compressors and its first replacement should take place after 50 hours of operation.

So now the question to people who have / have and use this type of device, how does it look from the practical side?
You have to reach, you do not have to, and how is it how? from the instructions it can be read that the machine should not work continuously for more than 20 minutes for each hour, so going so "lapping", assuming that you need to replace it after 5 hours will last over 15h clocks.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello.
In a sense, the guy was right. The compressor is flooded with ordinary oil for compressors, but in the initial phase of operation it is worth exchanging this oil more often than the manual says. It will certainly prolong its life.
I also bought a Chinese one this year, but I changed the two-cylinder and oil three times, every several dozen minutes of work. The first two exchanges are a massacre in oil, lots of filings. It is only after the third exchange that the oil is fairly clean. Remember that the quality of materials and processing in cheap compressors, to put it mildly, is not the highest flights and one of the ways to extend their life is to keep the oil clean. The more so because, for example, I am getting something about 200ml of oil. I suck the oil out with a large syringe through the vent.

Every few tens of minutes of work, literally?

I meant the compressor's time itself. Several dozen minutes is quite a lot for "garage" applications.

Thank you, I will do it the first time I start.
Today I bought 1l oil for reciprocating compressors, there will be several replacements, according to the documentation, 0.24l of oil is included.
I will make the first exchange after the first 30 minutes of work, I will see if there will also be a lot of filings in oil.

    Hello
Breaking in of each "piston crank group" is mandatory (after a few hours, drain the oil from the compressor and fill it with fresh!) Nowadays, manufacturers of both cars and other devices have d..... (customer somewhere) and his money. Thus, also the information on this topic is rudimentary or non-existent. Currently, none of the manufacturers care that the equipment they produce will last 20 years, as it was before. Buyers of new cars are told that the oil change is only after 30,000 km, horror! (look at the channel lovers of 4 wheels, there was a topic about BMW new and a magnet.) Where once the replacement was supposed to be after 3000 km on arrival). The compressor works similarly to the internal combustion engine, but under much lower loads (thermal and dynamic) and there are no exhaust gas and pollutants that collect oil in the internal combustion engine. Everything else is the same, oil consumption is in the compressors and needs to be replaced every year! if we use the equipment regularly, or if we notice that it has become dark and is no longer transparent yellow. Remember young people! we take care of the equipment and do not buy a new one right away to make a bunch of smart people :)
