I have an ATI Radeon 3000 graphics card and two monitors probably the same DELL U2410 model. One of the monitors is connected with an HDMI cable and the other with a VGA cable. I tried to connect the second monitor with the DVI cable but then there was no image. The operating system is Windows 10 64 bit. I was working on a computer and for some time it was fine until the modes suddenly changed. It turned out that there is no 1920 x 1200 resolution and no desktop extension mode. When you go right-click on the desktop -> Display settings -> Display display properties, in the "Card type" section there is a "Microsoft Basic Display Driver" driver written so it looks like a standard driver and I think there should be a driver from ATI Radeon 3000. In the screen settings as the "Detect" button is pressed in the "Multiple screens" section, it says "No other screen detected". As the windows key is pressed and P says "Display on another screen. The computer cannot use another screen. Try reinstalling the driver or use a different video card". When you enter the control panel -> device manager, the graphics cards have the correct "ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics" driver that was downloaded from Windows Update because in Windows 10 64 bit there is no support for this card from the ATI manufacturer because it is an older card. The version of the driver "ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics" is 22.19.128.0 from 07/25/2017. In the device manager next to the monitors there is only one driver "DELL U2410 (HDMI)" in version 4.0.0.0 from 07/06/2012 so it seems that there should be two drivers since there are two monitors. The operating system has been updated with Windows Update. Why is there no 1920 x 1200 resolution and desktop extension mode available? How to fix it ?

    Hello,
I have something similar from today. After coming from work and starting the computer, a total mess on the desktop and the resolution set to
1280 x 1024 and that's the max! Oddly enough, in the card's properties it says "no drivers installed" and when I click "update driver", something like that you already have the best possible driver (shows 22.19.128.0)! Wtf?

Can you download something from here ?:
    https://www.driveridentifier.com/scan/ati-rad...036A1A2BBF9F7ECB135/PCI%5CVEN_1002%26DEV_9616
    But what?

When you enter the device manager in the control panel and select the properties of the graphics card, in the "general" tab in the "Device status" section it says "No drivers for this device installed". The "Restore driver" option is disabled. After searching the net, I found only windows 8 64 bit for windows 10, they are not there, I tried to install them for windows 8 but they cannot be installed due to incompatibility with the operating system version after entering the device manager and graphics card properties in the general tab in the section " device status "writes with" No drivers for this device installed ".

In the screen settings where there is the "Microsoft Basic Display Driver" driver in the card properties in the "Events" tab it is written:

Are there any ways to fix the problem?

It is not the name of a model but a series.
Do you have motherboards, gentlemen, and current BIOSes in them?
    Please the 3rd CPU-Z tab and 1st GPU-Z tab.
Any power supplies for this? Can you know what?
"Fast Boot" / "turbo boot" or BIOS equivalent is it? Turn off.

Lack of support means "there will be problems" for short, and there are.

The motherboard is M5A78L-M / USB3 and it is loaded with the current BIOS version 2101. I have attached a screenshot of the CPU-Z and GPU-Z software below.

ATI Radeon 3000 - No 1920 x 1200 resolution and desktop extension mode

ATI Radeon 3000 - No 1920 x 1200 resolution and desktop extension mode

In Bios I found the "Quick Boot" option in the "Boot" tab and it is enabled.
The computer is not mine so I will not enter the BIOS to set the "Quick Boot" option because it is too big a risk.
I do not know what the power supply is.

I also try to fight this problem, the fault is with the system update and the lack of current AMD drivers. This topic has already appeared on foreign forums, but I haven't found a solution yet. Ways to solve the problem on the manufacturer's website, such as installing an older version of the system or buying a new card, do not help much either.

I had a similar on the radeon, I don't remember exactly but I had to play with changing the resolution in windows (desktop resolution) and then in catalyst. I guess I changed to the lowest desktop, then in Catalyst and then the desktop chapter was unlocked and then in Catalyst. Preferably on one screen.

Listen? There is no risk. This is the basic thing you switch if there are problems with detecting your monitors.
Either you "fix" or you make fun of me. Have the motherboard owner change this option.

It's hard to comment on that.

also no vga driver? For me, it has absolutely nothing - maybe through Linux browsers.

ps. There is also no W10 support for AMD:

I turned off the "Quick Boot" option in the BIOS but it still doesn't detect the second monitor so I turned it back on. The graphics card is integrated into the motherboard.

I would not like to be a bad prophet, but - not only with regard to AMD - "something has happened" with the "older" cards on the line system - graphics driver after the recent Windows 10 updates and what previously allowed to achieve different resolutions about options is no longer available.
It looks like you either have to be under the delusion that the producers will match the drivers or accept it.

Besides, it is not only a question of resolution - there are problems with recognizing the card (nVidia - various models) for distributed computing (BOINC - SaH) and the inability to download packages for graphics, which was not a problem before.

    PS
It seems that the cooperation between Microsoft and component manufacturers is so close that they agree * on compatible - read: more and more required - hardware.

    * I also allow myself the census theory.

Is the problem at all solvable by installing / updating something or should I go buy a new motherboard?

As for the first question, it must be checked.
As for the second, no one will tell you to buy a new one, since you have other options - buying a budget card for PCI-E or changing the OS. :(

These are drivers compatible with the above identifier and Windows 10.
Will they solve the problem? I don't know, because I would have invested in a better graphics card a long time ago.

Pretty stupid idea, but you can always try the BIOS downgrade for a change.

Today, after the strange behavior of the screen (blinking, black screen, blinking again) the resolution automatically returned to 1440x900. I absolutely do not know how it happened but I'm happy about it!

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced by users with the ATI Radeon 3000 graphics card, particularly regarding the inability to achieve a 1920 x 1200 resolution and the failure to extend the desktop across two monitors (DELL U2410). Users report that the system defaults to the "Microsoft Basic Display Driver," indicating a lack of proper drivers. Attempts to update drivers have been unsuccessful, with users encountering compatibility issues with Windows 10. Suggestions include checking BIOS settings, disabling "Quick Boot," and exploring driver downloads from various sources. Some users speculate that recent Windows updates may have affected driver support for older graphics cards, leading to resolution and detection problems. Alternatives discussed include downgrading the BIOS or considering a new graphics card.
