    Hello
I have a problem with the Philips Azur iron. It switches on for a moment, the lamp comes on, goes out after a second (you can hear the ironing noise), the soleplate does not heat up. I thought it was a "fireman system", so I missed it by plugging the brown power cord in place of the red one (photo before changing the wires). This operation did nothing, the lamps stopped lighting, no ticking was heard, the foot was still cold. What to do? Help.

Basic universal meter and minimum measurement knowledge required. Measurements, of course, with the power plug removed.

Most irons have a non-removable thermostat. And this model has a thermostat welded to the supply plates.

Often dust will come into contact with the thermostat and will not contact.

MARCIN.SLASK can you describe to me how to measure with a universal meter? It would allow to determine if the thermostat is responsible for the lack of heating. Thank you in advance for your answer

Thank you all for the advice ... I started by cleaning the contacts in the thermostat with fine sandpaper and heats :-) , only something doesn't steam, but I wait until it gets warmer.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around troubleshooting the Philips Azur GC4410/02 iron, which fails to heat up despite the power lamp briefly illuminating. Users suggest that the issue may stem from a faulty thermostat, which is often non-removable and welded to the supply plates. A basic universal meter can be used to diagnose the thermostat's functionality, with measurements taken after disconnecting the power. One user reported success after cleaning the thermostat contacts, although steam functionality remained an issue.
