    Hello

I have a computer that I connected to the TV with an HDMI cable. I normally work on the monitor connected to the computer with a VGA cable. But when I watch the movie on the computer I go to the other room on the TV. After turning on the TV, the picture was on the monitor and on the TV, but the sound was only on the TV. And everything was most ok.

Now I finally bought a new monitor with HDMI input. I could also connect it with a VGA cable, but I don't think I will use its full potential. If I'm wrong, correct me and the topic should be closed immediately, because everything should work as before.

In the computer I have only one HDMI output and I connected a monitor there. What do I have to buy to get the best picture and sound on both TV and computer? In the worst case, it may be just like last time, i.e. after switching on the TV the sound would be on the TV, and after switching off on the computer. Only the picture must be on both displays at once, because the TV is in another room and I can not turn on the film without a picture on the monitor :) I think you will understand what I mean. To tell the truth, I'm even thinking about buying a new TV, because it is bothersome for me that I have a cable thrown across the floor for half the house, and probably there is some way to connect it wirelessly? Is the usual HDMI splitter for PLN 10 for now enough for me and will there be sound and picture on TV and monitor?

And what hidden potential would you like to use?

You won't get it cheap on HDMI.

These splitters for 10 PLN choose the first receiving device to be turned on.

Personally, I use such a splitter: it has a choice on which channel we want to display the image (e.g. you set everything on the monitor, and then switch to the TV). It is not possible to display on two screens at the same time. The advantage is that it works on long cables. The passive ones you propose cannot work on cables longer than 10m.

I meant that probably after the VGA cable the image on the monitor probably has a loss of quality compared to HDMI.

I bought exactly what Viper recommended. We'll see how it works. Thanks for the help.

And I have another problem. It doesn't work yet. But maybe it can be sorted out somehow. Does this device need any power supply? I didn't get any cable included. I understand that I have to connect it anyway. Computer with HDMI cable to the device (it is strange that the socket is called output), and then the cable with e.g. input1 to TV and another cable from input2 to the monitor? When connected in the device, nothing lights up as if there was no electricity, so pressing this button does nothing. Is it good reasoning or somehow connect it?
