Hello. Did anyone have such a problem in the b5fl 1.6 ALZ pass? First, there was an error 16554 fuel trim multifunction bank 1 P0170 ntermittent. He deletes it and returns every now and then. Today error 16804 catalyst system bank 1 efficiency below threshold popped up P0420 35-00--. When checking the probe in channel 34, b1 s1 not ok comes out, and after the end of the probe test, an error pops up 16517 oxygen sensor b1 s1 response too slow P0133 - 002 lower limit excended. Is it the probe 1 collapsed or the catalyst? Because I read different answers and I don't know where to start and the parts are not too cheap.

Comparing this 1.6 alz passat to my other one with ahl engine, this one is much more muddy and weaker than the ahl.

There can be many reasons, the probe, a clogged, burned out catalyst, burned out valve seats and many others. To be verified after appropriate measurements or catalyst disassembly. Like a mud, it is probably a catalyst + valve tightness verification.

Hello, maybe this will help you.
16554 Fuel Rate Correction (Bank 1)
    Check the following components:
1 Oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter
    2 Mass air flow meter
3 Exhaust gas recirculation control solenoid valve with position sensor
    4 Secondary air pump
    5 Fuel pump
    6 Coolant temperature sensor
    7 Injector 1
    8 Injector 2
    9 Injector 3
    10 Injector 4
16804 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
    Check the following components:
1 Oxygen sensor after catalytic converter
2 Oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter
16517 Oxygen Sensor Pre Cat 1 Slow Response
    Check the following components:
1 Oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter

I replaced the probe yesterday with a different one as well as a transducer. Doing the probe test comes out all the time b1s1 not ok. And then error 16517.

With the engine running, I disconnected the flow meter and the engine did not vibrate. No symptoms whatsoever. Is it normal? However, does the flow end?

    Check the compression pressure.

And the collector flap is the control lever broken.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with a VW Passat B5 FL 1.6 ALZ, specifically concerning error codes related to fuel trim and catalyst efficiency. The user reports intermittent error 16554 (fuel trim bank 1) and error 16804 (catalyst system efficiency below threshold). Additional errors include 16517 (oxygen sensor response too slow). Responses suggest multiple potential causes, including a faulty oxygen sensor, clogged or burned-out catalyst, and issues with valve seats. Recommendations include checking various components such as the mass air flow meter, exhaust gas recirculation valve, and performing compression pressure tests. The user has replaced the oxygen sensor and transducer but continues to receive error messages.
