Hello, I have a Citroen c5 1.8 from 2003. Half a year ago, I replaced the clutch kit. The reason was the vibration when starting. Since then, I've done about 4,000 km. I have been having a hard time going in gears for some time. I will add that after firing on the cold, they go perfectly without any resistance. After the engine is warmed up, problems with shifting gears begin. Something seems to get caught somewhere. The problem is gradually worsening. The clutch is founded by Luk. What could be the cause? Thanks for the hints. Best regards.

Hello. The oil was changed together with the clutch, but I changed it again for the sake of peace. I removed the links from the selector and checked, they are loose. The fluid is as much as it should, not decreasing. After replacing the clutch, it happened that twice a night that the pedal was up to half drooped.
After lifting it upside down, it was ok.

I will check the lines again. It's strange that on the cold one they are great, and they only catch a little temperature and start climbing harder and harder. What would the temperature have to the lines. I don't know anymore.

As for the engine cushions and gearbox, all three are new from a good company.

I unfastened the cables and checked, they are loose. Before the engine warms up, the gears go perfectly. After five kilometers, the gears enter as if something got stuck somewhere.

Hello. Can there be air in the clutch? How to bleed it properly?

The clutch is deaerated, the improvement is silent. Can it release the clutch slave cylinder or the clutch pump even though there is no fluid leakage? What happens more often?

Hello again. Yesterday I unfastened the cables again and this little link next to the selector. It turned out that the part sticking out of the box is jamming, it moves, but not completely and generally stutters. What can you do about it?

Hello, my box has the symbol 20DL29. Does it have to be like this, can it be replaced with a different symbol? If so, what kind? Please advice?

Does anyone know if there may be a different box designation, e.g. 20DL30? I read that they have a similar main gear and a stronger differential.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2003 Citroen C5 1.8 experiencing hard gear shifts after the engine warms up, following a clutch replacement. The user initially replaced the clutch kit due to vibrations during starting, but after 4,000 km, they noticed difficulties in shifting gears when the engine is warm, while cold shifts are smooth. Various potential causes were explored, including the condition of the gearbox oil, the clutch slave cylinder, and the linkage cables. The user confirmed that the oil was changed, the cables were checked, and the brake fluid level was normal. They also considered the possibility of air in the clutch system and the need for proper bleeding. Further investigation revealed that a component near the selector was jamming, prompting inquiries about the gearbox designation and compatibility with other models.
