Good day. I am looking for a router with disabled wifi, preferably with a physical button on the housing. I am not familiar with software changes, so I will not be able to configure the TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND router for this button to work on alternative software (I read that it is necessary). If you can recommend something to me, please. I have a 300Mb fiber optic link
Desktops connected by cables to the router and several devices at home that use the Internet (TV, phones, tablets) it would be good if it had 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi. thanks for any advice, best regards.

Each router has the option to turn off Wi-Fi, mainly it is a function in the software, just enter the IP of the router I do not know what hardware version you have, but it does not matter to turn off wi fi, select the wirless tab, then the Wireless Settings subcategory and there you check the Enable Wireless Router Radio checkbox .

if the version of the router is v4, you will have a different interface, i.e.

The router is in my opinion quite good, although if you want a wi-fi switch on the button, nwm maybe Netgear R6220, but if you have an optical fiber at home, you have a device often called a fiber optic terminal that already functions as a router and you only need AccesPoint, personally I do not recommend connecting router after router it can sometimes cause strange situations, although some routers can be configured as AP or insert WAN in LAN sounds strange but works :P .

zalufx I have such a device connected to the fiber: FX660-APC-SIXPON, the company that installed the link recommended connecting the Netis WF2780 router to this router. it worked not all year and the router just broke down. There is no communication with it, it does not transmit the signal via cables to desktops, sometimes it transmits a wifi signal. I can not find a receipt for this router, so I have a thread complaint and I have to buy new equipment. For the fact that I can not cope with setting up routers, etc., I must be able to turn off the wifi with the button on the housing. I regret now that I was not interested in computer science in my youth, because you can probably turn off wifi at night in every router, you only need to know how, and I don't know.

I have never used it but these settings also apply to lan, i.e. apart from the time included in the schedule, there will be no net even on the cable. If I am wrong, make me wrong.

I have 6 different TP-links at hand, none of them has a wi-fi schedule, I asked because maybe I did not notice something, but if you have an emulator sent and you can not show it, it is not

WR1043ND version 2, 3, 4 and 5 has this button to turn on WiFi:
Purchase of a router with disabled wifi without changing the firmware of 2.4 and

On an alternative software (OpenWrt) it is also supported without any additional configuration.

You don't need to switch to OpenWrt software. On standard firmware, you can also turn WiFi off and on with this button.

You can also find this information in the manual: Purchase of a router with disabled wifi without changing the firmware of 2.4 and

Just hold the button for 5 seconds to turn on / off WiFi.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around finding a router with WiFi disabled by default and a physical button for toggling WiFi on and off. The user expresses a preference for a model that does not require firmware changes, as they are not familiar with software configurations. Several participants suggest that most routers, including the TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND, have the capability to disable WiFi through their settings, but the user seeks a simpler solution with a physical button. Recommendations include the Netgear R6220 and FritzBox 4040, although the latter is noted to be expensive. The conversation also touches on the possibility of using the TP-LINK model with standard firmware to achieve the desired functionality without switching to alternative software.
