I warmly welcome,
I would like to put on my computer a virtual machine with which the girl could connect from her old, slow netbook.
My operating system is Windows 10, and there will also be Windows 10 on the virtual machine.
First, I installed VirtalBox, created a virtual machine and without too much knowledge in this topic I managed to make the girl connect to this machine from my netbook via RDP - everything was flickering perfectly, the only problem was that it was impossible to get sound from virtual machine on a netbook. I was looking for information everywhere, changing settings and nothing - I gave up.
Due to the fact that the ability to play sound from a virtual machine is very important, I decided to try another program.
I currently have VMware Workstation Pro 14.0.0 build-6661328 installed. I created a virtual machine with Windows 10. Unfortunately, the problem is that I can't connect remotely via RDP to this machine ...
Here is a list of things I have done / set up:
- on a virtual machine on windows I have checked "allow remote connections to this computer"
- (I warn you that I don't know much about these things) I have a static IP set on the Windows virtual machine - in the property: Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP / IPv4) I have checked "use the following IP address" and some address there IP, mask and gate.
- in VMware in the network settings of the machine I have selected NAT
- in VMware in general network settings in NAT I have set port forwarding as follows:
Host port: 9997
Type: TCP
Virtual machine IP address: here I have the same IP as previously set on the machine as static
Virtual machine port: 3389
- in the virtual machine network settings I checked the "Enable VNC Connections" option and there I entered:
Port - 3389 (I tried to enter 9997 here but it also doesn't work)
Connecting via RDP from this netbook gives my machine's IP + colon + 9997 but you can't connect ... Connecting to VirtualBox worked ...
Like something from my machine on which these virtual machines are placed, it is possible to connect to them via RDP giving my IP + colon + port number. It is also possible to connect from my machine to a virtual machine via RDP giving only its IP number.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I also tried to uncheck the "Enable VNC Connections" option and it did nothing. I tried to give other ports and it did nothing. I searched the web, but I didn't find much there, and if something was already, I should rather have it well, and yet it does not work. Alternatively, is there any other program for creating virtual machines where I can easily connect remotely and will be able to play audio?
