Hello, during a long journey I stopped to refuel, turned off the car and didn't want to start anymore. I called the mechanic to fix the computer and nothing, no errors. The check engine is on, the mechanic moved the timing and shaft position sensors and managed to fire, but when I turned it off, he did not want to light again, the mechanic came up with the idea of pouring the shaft position sensor with cold water and fired (I did not extinguish it all the way home), no power during the return like the turbo doesn't work, help me

I wonder what he diagnosed. It's strange that since the check is lit and there are no errors. Theoretically, a defective shaft sensor should generate an error. It is best when you have a hot car and it does not want to start, check the resistance of the shaft sensor ...

What should I do? I have already ordered a new shaft position sensor but I do not have it yet.
I wanted to add that this is not a Hall sensor

It is an inductive sensor, resistance approx. 500 ohm. After removing it, it is enough to connect the meter and heat it with a hot air dryer if it is damaged, at some point the indications will be significantly different from the norm.

I don't have anything to heat it up, but maybe I'll think of something and check it today

If it's 136KM it's a hall, if it's 109KM it's inductive. What engine do you have. In the engine parameters you can see the shaft rotation ?.

90km ;) inductive sensor is, 2.0 HDI engine

A new shaft position sensor and nothing, the computer probably cuts the power to the fuel pump because you can't hear it working and the fuel filter with ash from the wires and nothing flies

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Citroen C5 I 2.0 HDI that fails to start after refueling, with the check engine light illuminated but no error codes detected. A mechanic attempted to diagnose the issue by adjusting the timing and shaft position sensors, which temporarily allowed the car to start. However, the problem recurred, and a cold water application to the shaft position sensor also provided a temporary fix. The user confirmed the vehicle has an inductive sensor and mentioned that a new shaft position sensor was ordered but did not resolve the issue. Further investigation suggested that the computer might be cutting power to the fuel pump, as it was not operational. The discussion includes technical advice on checking the sensor's resistance and potential issues with the fuel system.
