I am trying to redirect VPN traffic in huawei B525. By default, L2TP need to route 500 1701 and 4500 ports.

Unfortunately, when I type 1701, a balloon pops up saying I can't redirect this port (WTF?) Why? So how do I let VPN traffic in? I have never encountered it and from what I think it is impossible to change L2TP traffic to other ports.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to get around it?

    Equipment from t-mobile.

    Can other ports be redirected?
Maybe put an OpenVPN server and choose, for example, TCP port 443 - this one will almost certainly be able to redirect.

Do you have public IPs on your router without any blockades?

YES. IP is. input from outside works, you cannot only assign 1701 to the machine in the middle. Someone encountered such a blockade? it's a bit crap - it prevents us from working after VPN. New equipment taken out of the box today.

other ports are working, I normally have a connection with the server inside. OpenVPN has too complicated service for our needs. we want to be able to quickly configure from system tools.

Your router is, however, a device for home use, possibly protected in some way. Here, an expert on 4G routers is a colleague @ matek451 maybe he will tell you something.

Router like a router, I do not require too much. Business bought in the offer, but of course it doesn't change anything. I am surprised by this blockade on a specific port (or rather a few because when I want to enter this configuration, a balloon appears showing the inability to set 3 or 4 ports including 1701). I was hoping someone had already fought it and knew what to do about it. Maybe I need to contact t-mobile only where and how, because the lady in the salon will not help me and the helpline is an automatic machine.

If anyone has an idea, I would be grateful for help.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the inability to redirect port 1701 for L2TP VPN traffic on a Huawei B525 router, which is reportedly blocked by the device. Users suggest alternative solutions, such as using OpenVPN on a different port (e.g., TCP port 443) to bypass the restriction. The original poster confirms that other ports are functional but expresses frustration over the specific blockade on ports 1701 and others. They seek advice on how to resolve this issue, considering contacting T-Mobile for assistance, as the current support options are inadequate.
