Dear friends, I would like to ask you to share your opinions, I want to change the car this year, currently the seat toledo II 1.9Tdi 110koni, the budget I want to allocate is up to PLN 23,000, somewhere like that. I like them:
    1.Renault Megane III 1.6 16V 110KM
    2. Renault Laugna III 2.0 140KM
    3.Ford Mondeo mk IV 2.0Tdci
I am asking for your opinion, which car is worth paying attention to when buying, the car needed mostly for commuting to work 20km a day back and forth, sometimes jumping to the city about 40km both ways and 3 times a year for a trip . If you have any of the cars, please give me your opinion. Or you can suggest something worth paying attention to so that the maintenance costs do not hurt a lot and the car is relatively young and comfortable to drive.

I am also asking for your opinions on what to pay attention to when buying these cars.

    Thanks in advance!!!

You have chosen cars with reasonably good engines and with good engines >>> :D but the state is the most important thing :D
There will always be someone who praises something else.
Do you have to consider a few things?
    1. megane do not compare to the lagoon and mondeo (you know the size and family, you will have nowhere to pack)
2.The distance you cover 20 km is the Mondeo tire in oil  before you warm it up, you get out :D :D  and one more takes longer to heat up :D unless you like the cold in winter :D (if something is, look for gasoline 2.0 140KM, a very good car - he has and praises himself)
    3. Laguna 3 is supposed to wash away the bad fame of lagoon 2 so they supposedly refined it (and the opinions indicate that this is probably the way we are talking about petrol 2.0 140KM)
    4. If you are not interested in the place, Megane will burn the least fuel in everyday use, even by about 2.5 liters per 100km (the engine is also of the old generation, so it should not cause any problems)

But the choice is still yours and your needs :D
and still the state is the most important :D you can have problems with a vw and dad drive a few years without costs :D
Good luck :D because you will need to find a good car >>> I am already looking for a little 50,000 in the trowel >>>> :D

For example, I would ask among my good friends from "real world".
According to the rule: " each magpie praises its petiole ", I'm curious what, next answer you will get to the topic bothering you.
    best regards

    Ps
This is my "opinion" to the question you asked.

karol1977: and your brother-in-law you say that he has a mondeo gasoline in 2 liters? how did he talk about burning it? and how with a possible gas installation if i wanted to put it on? :-)
You say that the meganka will burn less, and how with performance, how does it collect? And how with failure rate? I mean, in general, the engine, which will collect similarly to my Toledo 1.9TDI in 110 horses. Maybe gasoline, but I would like a little power reserve. You have a much larger budget to buy a cart and I suspect that with such capital I would be looking for an almost new one :-)
gumies: thanks for the advice :-) I will definitely use it, you only know among friends that they often praise their cars :D but not every fact and sometimes it is worth asking! :)

My brother-in-law drives around the chimney from 10-20 km. - burns 10-11l of gasoline. 8-O . When it comes to driving, you don't know it's a heavy house >>> check the performance of your cars (e.g. in auto centrum.pl)
The Megan, Laguna and Mondeo 2.0b 140KM engine tolerate a gas installation for 2300-2500 thousand that will quickly pay you back >>>
All these gasoline cars, as I wrote before, are good old constructions (without dual mass wheels, turbines and other nonsense)
Desel knows a different torque and a smaller house will probably leave everyone behind :shii: :D

The Ford has a 5-speed gearbox - there is no 6 gear on the road.
Burning min. 7 route in the city 9-winter 12l.
    Personally, I would take 2.0 136 / 140KM. Tdci.
The valves are for periodic adjustment - in gasoline 2.0.
Laguna in a station wagon by. For me, poetry is prettier.
Hydraulics in the head. More comfortable but smaller trunk.
Maybe cruze 1.8 lpg - valves for periodic adjustment - no hydraulics.
The rest as in the Astra j. Unless you would find a 1.4 turbo.
    Seat exeo?

Remember that combustion and high torque in a 10-year-old diesel is not everything. And heating in winter? It will be really warm when you get to work, and if it has a heater, it will be at the expense of the battery's life, unless with webasto.
The battery must be in min. good condition, glow plugs, injection system, EGR, turbo, dual mass,
Fuel quality and ease of hydration in rarely refueled diesel (problems with starting at significant negative temperatures)
When it comes to costs, diesels are seemingly cheap, although they have some advantages and significant disadvantages.

2.0 in Ford is actually a French 2.0HDI engine, a good chance that it will be with DPF,
at 20 km a day, in higher frosts of 90 degrees, it will only catch after 10 km
Removing dpf is a big risk these days, maybe even this year they will be examining the composition of exhaust gases during the inspections, so in my opinion it is a pity to risk

for such use, the best benz or lpg
laguna III good car, I work in a large automotive store, in lagoon 3 the problems with the electrics have been almost completely eliminated compared to lagoon 2, the suspension is also much more durable, front and rear, rear, even though some versions have a rear steering axle, there is nothing to fear .
I would only advise against the version with an electric parking brake (there were 2 types for a button or a cable)

megane III probably less popular than lagoon 3, dimensions more similar to your current seat, in operation you will feel that such a 1.6 has less power, because it has less torque, in fact sprint to 100 will be similar, overtaking too, only to quickly overtake 2 gears Down.
In both engines, the variable camshaft timing wheels on the shafts are also defective, and the ignition coils, but it's still a piece of cake in the case of possible diesel breakdowns

if you want diesel, for the money you can consider toyote avensis 2.0 d4d
one of the better diesel engines on the market, the better option is weaker 116KM on the belt, stronger is 126KM on the chain, however, it has an aluminum block and there are burned out gaskets under the head, the advantage over the Ford is the lack of DPF, less deteriorating EGR valves or throttles, high pumps failure-free pressure (that's why stimulants for several dozen zlotys are)
    good luck with your purchase

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the comparison of three vehicles: Renault Megane III, Renault Laguna III, and Ford Mondeo mk IV, within a budget of 23,000 PLN. Users emphasize the importance of vehicle condition over brand preference and discuss the suitability of each model for daily commuting and occasional long trips. The Megane III is noted for its fuel efficiency, while the Laguna III is praised for its improved reliability compared to its predecessor. The Mondeo mk IV, although larger, may not be ideal for short commutes due to its longer warm-up time. Concerns about diesel engines, particularly regarding maintenance costs and winter performance, are raised, with suggestions leaning towards gasoline or LPG options for better reliability and lower running costs. The discussion concludes with the author deciding to pursue the Laguna III based on the feedback received.
