    I warmly welcome.

I am the happy owner of a Toyota Corolli e11 from 1998. 1.3 4E-FE petrol engine, liftback body type :)

Everything works fine except for one drawback that bothers me.

ABS is not working, this is not signaled! ; /
I checked all fuses responsible for ABS operation. I tried to detach them, causing a break in the circuit, but after turning to ignition, nothing else on the board.

    What do you advise

I enclose photos of fuse boxes and a diagram which I suggested.

And the bulb from the ABS indicator is sometimes not damaged?

Check the bulb circuit as a colleague above suggests and whether you can read the errors from the ABS controller. ?

Unfortunately, you need to remove the clocks. Then you take out the bulb and you can check it with a meter or connecting it to 12 V.

Wow, what does it mean to be able to read errors from an ABS driver? :) Only professional connection to a computer comes into play or something like that can be read at home?

I mean, do you have a friend (familiar workshop) who could read your mistakes?

For this you need a diagnostic interface and without it at home, nothing will come of it.

It is at home that you can get to the meter and check the light bulb, and if it turns out that it works, it remains to check all the fuses thoroughly and then, as you will find nothing, there is a workshop and connection to the controller.

I'm afraid that the previous owner was offended by this control and did something with it. Although, sometimes I really press the brake pedal hard and intensely, I have the impression that something in the chassis is shooting, but the brake pedal does not feel bouncing. With a slight inhibition of this symptom I did not notice :) In both cases, in my opinion, the car slides onto the lock :D

I suggest looking for a diagnostician with such an interface because replacing a burnt out bulb alone will not repair ABS.

I will agree with that :)
Okay, thank you for now. I will try to comprehend it :)

I'm reactivating a thread. I have the same problem. I wanted to try to replace the ABS module blind ... I just don't know where it is :P Can you tell me more or less where this module is located?
    Best regards!

If the ABS does not work and the indicator light is off, it is either burned or, as someone wrote above, the bulb is disconnected. Replacing the bulb or connecting the lamp alone will not fix the ABS. At this age of the car, you should take into account damaged (contaminated or cracked) ABS toothed rings on the wheel hubs or even damaged ABS sensors. The condition of the rings can be checked from the channel or on the lift - I would start with that.

Only I don't want to change the light bulb :-) I want to replace the ABS control module. Mechanics checked the pump and after connecting 'briefly' (from what they said) it worked. That is why I am thinking about replacing the ABS module :-) I just don't know where he is.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 1998 Toyota Corolla E11 with a 1.3 4E-FE petrol engine, where the owner reports that the ABS system is not functioning, and there is no warning light indicating a fault. The owner has checked all relevant fuses without success. Responses suggest checking the ABS indicator bulb, which may be burnt out or disconnected, and recommend using a multimeter to test it. Additionally, it is advised to read error codes from the ABS controller, which requires a diagnostic interface. Other potential issues include damaged ABS toothed rings or sensors. One participant inquires about the location of the ABS control module, indicating a desire to replace it. The consensus is that simply replacing the bulb will not resolve the ABS issue, and professional diagnostics may be necessary.
