    Hey,

I have a TV brand Samsung UE55MU6102 and a set of speakers SONY HT-RT4. The problem is that the TV is activated by a set of speakers (by no means the service claims). Both devices can be connected to each other with an HDMI cable under the HDMI ARC connector, but with this method of connecting the TV equipment turns on automatically, as if the audio system was running it or vice versa. Has anyone had a similar situation?
To make matters worse, a Vectra decoder is connected to the TV via HDMI. In a situation where the set of speakers is connected to the TV, they automatically start from the TV and turn off when it turns off the TV. When the decoder is connected to e.g. HDMI1 or 2, when the TV is turned on, the speaker set starts automatically, but will not turn off when the TV is turned off.

Will I lose the ability to receive 5.1 audio when connecting the audio system with an optical cable? TV will automatically convert my sound to 2.1? I understand that connecting via HDMI ARC cable gives better results? Only that after the HDMI TV cable starts up by myself, which is extremely annoying at night.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, I also touch the same subject, only tv - this is Samsung UE65MU7002TXXH + SONYHT-RT4. Also connected via HDMI ARC with SONY kit. I've been trying to fight TV turning on at night for a week. The TV has already been reset to the factory settings and updated. Of course, after disconnecting all external devices, everything is ok. Nobody on the Samsung helpline and on the site has not heard of such cases. I don't know if there is any advice, maybe someone has already had such a case, please help.

    Good morning,

After checking the TV many times, the service stated that the equipment was working properly. The problem is connecting the TV and the set with an HDMI cable. The set and TV interact in some way and most likely connecting via HDMI cable turns on the TV, after the SONY set up earlier. The solution to the problem is connecting the set and TV with an optical cable. Unfortunately, we lose the ability to control the volume with one TV remote control. We have to run the TV and speaker set ourselves. The sound quality is exactly the same as on the HDMI cable. The 5.1 system is working properly, checked. Thanks to this solution, the TV or set does not start automatically.

Hello, thanks for the hint, because I was getting ready to give tv to the service, but I would probably hear the same diagnosis. So I'll try to connect the Sony set via an optical cable and HDMI but not through the ARC connector from the TV (if I understood correctly). I hope that tonight will be calm. Greetings.

Please unplug the HDMI cable completely, the sound will go over the optical cable. Only in the set settings you need to change the connection method to OPT, if I remember correctly. On TV, in the settings, please change the sound output to Optical, the settings must be made for each external device separately, e.g. decoder, console, etc. The TV will remember the sound output settings for each set. If you want to receive a 5.1 signal, you must remember that the program must broadcast a given signal, e.g. movies on HBO are broadcast in such a signal, but most often in a foreign language version (original language), this must be set in the advanced settings of the TV or decoder sound. I do not know if you use any Vectra, nc + etc. company

So, as I understand, I have to connect only the optical cable, without HDMI - the ARC output from the TV should not be connected. In the TV settings - the sound source is an optical connection and in the same way in SONY in the audio settings - the TV sound "OPT". Everything will be done after optical cable? Thank you with the hint, of course I will try, because I'm tired of waking up at night. I have a UPC decoder and also after switching on the tv automatically called for checking the HDMI connection with the UPC decoder, or otherwise checking the antenna connection - where the antenna is not connected at all to the TV. I thought that I was alone in this matter, but as I can see, it wasn't just my problem. Thanks.

Exactly. All you need is an optical cable and you need to change the "optical" output channel in the TV settings and the same in the SONY set.

Wouldn't it be enough to turn off Anynet + on your TV?
    And HDMI-CEC in the cinema?

This should help to turn on the TV.
Although the ability to control cinema will also disappear.

It would be enough, but for what? Since the decoder is connected to HDMI, at least for him it is worth leaving the function of one remote control. The optical cable has exactly the same sound quality as under HDMI, but I can't hear any difference. Turning AnyNet + off you will need to use 3 remote controls, from TV, decoder and speakers, and when connected with an optic only the remote control from the set comes in, and the TV remote control can control the decoder and TV :)

With the turning off the Anynet + function on TV, I haven't tried it yet, but on TV the signal setting from HDMI was changed - on TV and also TV turned on, where theoretically the signal should not go after ARC and yet the problem was all the time (a bit strange that usually at night ).

Transferring audio from HDMI ARC to optical does not have to solve the problem of the TV turning on automatically.

Anynet + and HDMI-CEC in the cinema are responsible for controlling the activation.
Also, the problem may come back sooner or later.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the issue of a Samsung UE55MU6102 TV turning on automatically when connected to a SONY HT-RT4 speaker system via HDMI ARC. Users report similar experiences with other models, indicating that HDMI-CEC (Anynet+) may be causing the problem. Solutions proposed include disconnecting the HDMI cable and using an optical cable for audio, which maintains sound quality and allows for 5.1 audio without automatic activation of the TV. However, this requires manual control of the speaker volume and separate remotes for the TV and audio system. Some users suggest disabling Anynet+ to prevent the TV from turning on automatically, but this may complicate remote control functionality for other devices.
