Hello. I have a problem with the radio, the radio works, but I cannot hear any sound from it. Sometimes it starts playing, but only when I run into a hole, and then stops again. When I turn them on, you can hear in the left rear speaker as if a short circuit such a "knock" and the radio does not play. I disconnected the loudspeaker - it does not sound, I plugged in another - it does not sound, I checked whether the current is available, voltage and everything is ok, i.e. the cables are not broken. I checked the fuses - everything is ok. I looked at all the cables from the radio to check if they were broken - everything was ok. I insulated the mute cable because maybe it shorted and then nothing. In the end, I plugged in a different (factory) radio and it was even worse, because it closed continuously as if something was about to burn  . I have run out of ideas  so I am asking you how to remedy this. Ultimately, if I don't do anything with an electrician ... that's a lot of money :not:
PS. I know that there were similar topics but there was probably no such problem yet :P

It is possible that somewhere you have a short circuit in the wires and it is enough in one output to the loudspeaker and the radio does not play. I had a similar situation in another car, once it was played, once, silence, once every few seconds, and silence for several days. There was a short in the wires to one speaker on the back

For me, there was a slightly different problem in Bór, the speaker cables were in contact and the radio played once, sometimes not.
Best of all, the light in the roof lining was either flashing or shining steadily ;)

The description suggests loose cables and / or lack of contact, and this involves checking the cables.

Check if the radio cube is fully inserted, it was not all in my case and there was no sound either.

The cables are checked on the bends, there are no abrasions. I am surprised by the fact that there is a short circuit in the rear left speaker and after unplugging it or inserting another, the radio does not play, so is it possible that the whole thing does not sound through one speaker?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a sound issue with the Opel Astra G radio, where the radio functions intermittently, producing sound only under certain conditions, such as hitting a bump. Users suggest potential causes including loose or shorted wiring, particularly in the speaker connections. One user recalls a similar experience with a short circuit affecting speaker output. Others recommend checking the radio's connections and ensuring that the wiring is intact, especially at bends. The author expresses confusion over the persistent sound issues despite checking various components, including fuses and speaker connections.
