Gas is connected to the block, it is only necessary to connect to the apartment from the corridor (in other apartments it is). The gas is to heat the water and the flat. So you need to connect the appropriate pipes, buy a gas stove (not too expensive, but economical and safe), a gas meter and obtain a permit (it's just a formality) to connect gas from the corridor to the apartment. Radiators are already installed.

The block was commissioned (after construction) in 1988. I don't know if it is a plate, but there was a boiler room in the block that heated water and central heating. After decommissioning the boiler room, some brought gas, and some heat the kitchen with a water jacket. There are chimneys (each apartment has its outlet), so you could install gas heating in some apartments and coal in others. My flat is on the top floor. If the apartment has its own chimney duct, which is not shared with other apartments, then you can insert a concentric chimney (pipe in the pipe) into this duct, which will discharge flue gas and bring air to the condensing boiler.

It is best to choose a company that will generally do everything from paperwork to assembly - it will also give you a preliminary cost estimate. Unless you have a designer with appropriate building qualifications.
For me, the cost of replacing the boiler itself was 5,000. When you choose a boiler with assembly, you have 8% VAT on everything, if you buy the boiler yourself, VAT is 23% + service.

A good boiler with an open combustion chamber will also work, and some problems with the chimney duct disappear. In Małopolska, the connection from the meter to the furnace should oscillate around 2000. You need to look for a contractor with the cheapest license.
