Hello. I have a Man TGA 360 2003 and a problem with the engine. In the morning you have to shoot for a long time for it to light and it does not work evenly at idle speed. Maybe someone had a similar problem? The errors that are displayed are:
    Edc 03051 - 03
    03047 - 03
    03048 - 03
    03049 - 03
On the computer, it displays what is in the picture:

Any errors related to the rollout test. First try to turn the ignition on and off 5 times. The problem arose overnight? This is the D28 regular pump?

I have already tried with the key and it is the same. it is on an ordinary pump today, when I turned it off on a warm one, it was a problem to start it as if the fuel would come back from the pump or something like that

Errors have started to appear for some time after a long drive, when I turn it off, sometimes even the errors go out, but not once, but it works unevenly as if it would run out of fuel more than once

Check all electrical cubes on the motor from sensors, pump, computer, see if computer connectors are not oiled. The driver could have failed, unfortunately.

    Where is this driver located?

    On the left-hand engine.

I forgot to mention the EDC main relay, next to the fuel filter housing, it is also worth checking (although its defect would spit another error) and check the EDC fuse under the plastic cover on the engine.

Oh, well, today I will check because his speed is so flawed that it is impossible to ride a jerk at idle speed

I was with a mechanic, it turned out that the pump is jammed in the 3rd section and the valve that holds the fuel fell down so that it does not return to the tank, but after replacing this valve, it did not improve too much

Hello, I have a similar problem, the edc errors are identical
    03051-03
    03050-03
    03049-03
    03048-03
    03047-03
I checked the wiring of the edc relay, the injection pump was replaced and the man still did not start. Please give me a hint where to look for the reason.

Hello, buddy, I managed to fix it Man smokes now from the arrow, it turned out that the valve on the injection pump at the fuel pipe did not hold the fuel and it returned to the tank and it was hard to light it then it started to walk unevenly, it turned out that one section was jammed on the pump and the injections went go to work and now everything is ok

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around engine issues in a Man TGA 360 (2003) related to EDC motor errors 03051, 03047, 03048, and 03049. The user reports difficulty starting the engine, which runs unevenly at idle. Responses suggest checking the ignition system, electrical connections, EDC main relay, and fuses. A mechanic identified a jammed pump section and a faulty valve that caused fuel to return to the tank, complicating starting and idle performance. After replacing the valve, the user noted some improvement but still faced issues. Another participant shared a similar experience, resolving it by addressing the injection pump valve and ensuring proper fuel retention.

FAQ

TL;DR: For MAN TGA 360 (2003) hard-start/rough-idle issues with EDC errors, “Any errors related to the rollout test.” First try 5 ignition cycles, then check relay/fuse and ECU plugs. Fix specifics and causes below. [Elektroda, Cobrat, post #17070488]

Why it matters: It helps owners and techs fix no-start and rough idle faster and avoid unnecessary pump swaps.

Quick Facts

What do MAN EDC codes 03047–03051 typically point to on a TGA 360?

These errors are linked to the controller’s rollout test. “Any errors related to the rollout test.” Before deeper work, cycle the ignition ON/OFF 5 times. If codes persist, continue with relay, fuse, ECU plug, and fuel system checks. [Elektroda, Cobrat, post #17070488]

How do I reset or re-initialize the rollout test with the key?

Use this quick sequence:
  1. Turn ignition ON (do not start).
  2. Turn ignition OFF.
  3. Repeat the ON/OFF cycle five times. This re-runs the test and may clear rollout-related EDC errors. If not, proceed with electrical and fuel checks. [Elektroda, Cobrat, post #17070488]

Where is the EDC/engine ECU (“driver”) located on a MAN TGA 360?

It sits on the left-hand side of the engine. This is the module you’ll inspect for connector condition and oil contamination during diagnostics. [Elektroda, Chavez, post #17074458]

Where are the EDC main relay and the EDC fuse on this truck?

The EDC main relay is next to the fuel filter housing. The EDC fuse is under the plastic cover on the engine. “Check the EDC fuse under the plastic cover on the engine.” A failed relay often logs a different code, but confirm both anyway. [Elektroda, Cobrat, post #17075259]

Why does my MAN TGA crank for a long time and idle unevenly?

Fuel drain-back can cause extended cranking and rough idle. In a confirmed fix, the injection pump’s non‑return valve didn’t hold, and one pump section jammed. After repairing both, the engine started instantly and idled correctly. [Elektroda, piotrek_brt, post #17275432]

Could fuel be draining back to the tank overnight?

Yes. The symptom is hard starting after sitting or even when warm, “as if the fuel would come back from the pump.” Errors may appear after a drive, briefly clear after shutdown, yet idle remains uneven. That pattern suggests drain-back. [Elektroda, piotrek_brt, post #17072527]

I replaced the injection pump and it still won’t start—has anyone seen this?

Yes. One owner reported identical EDC codes (03047–03051) despite replacing the injection pump and checking the EDC relay wiring. That outcome implies another fault remains, so broaden diagnostics beyond the pump. [Elektroda, cooldar, post #17259995]

What finally solved the OP’s TGA 360 issue?

Two actions: replace the non‑return valve on the injection pump’s fuel pipe and address a jammed pump section. After that, the truck started from the first turn and ran evenly. [Elektroda, piotrek_brt, post #17275432]

What wiring or connector checks should I do before blaming the ECU?

Inspect all “electrical cubes” on sensors, the pump, and the ECU. Verify the ECU plugs are clean and not oiled. “The driver could have failed, unfortunately.” Rule out contact issues before condemning the module. [Elektroda, Cobrat, post #17074095]

Do bad EDC relays cause these exact codes?

A failed EDC main relay typically throws a different error. Still, check the relay near the fuel filter and the EDC fuse under the engine cover. Confirm power supply integrity during diagnostics. [Elektroda, Cobrat, post #17075259]

Is this advice valid for trucks with an “ordinary” (mechanical) pump?

Yes. The thread’s vehicle used an ordinary (mechanical) injection pump. The hard-start, drain-back, and uneven idle symptoms matched that setup, guiding the successful repair. [Elektroda, piotrek_brt, post #17072527]

Can these EDC errors appear after a long drive and then disappear?

Yes. One owner saw the errors after long drives. After shutting down, the errors sometimes cleared, but the engine still idled unevenly. That intermittent behavior often points to underlying fuel or connection issues that persist. [Elektroda, piotrek_brt, post #17072527]

Which injection pump section jammed in the reported case?

A mechanic found the 3rd section jammed. Replacing the non‑return valve alone did not improve much until the jammed section issue was addressed. This highlights multi-fault scenarios. [Elektroda, piotrek_brt, post #17095633]
