PC as SNTP time server for other devices in the local network

    Hello!

    I have an application in which there is one PC and several automation devices in the same local network. These devices need to synchronize their time with this PC and the only option they have is to synchronize with the SNTP server. In addition, there is also a requirement that none of these devices can be connected to the Internet. The network and its devices must be isolated from it.

    Can I install a program on this PC that would emulate the SNTP server and allow the devices to synchronize with the local PC time?

    And what will you sync your local PC with? Computer clocks are not very accurate and after a few days you will have a time difference. Such a computer, if it cannot synchronize via the Internet, must have a clock connected with a GPS antenna. It can be a device connected to an industrial network and the synchronization will not require computer operation.
    Generally, if you want to do it on a PC, you just need to change a few settings (in Win7) and the PC will act as a time server (look for "windows 7 as a time server"), but as I wrote before, without being connected to the Internet, the time will spread very quickly.

    I know they will go away ;-) Here it is more important that these devices have the same time as the PC, not that they have a perfectly up-to-date time.

    Thanks, but now I think that an external SNTP server synchronized with GPS would also be a good solution. It is true that, as I wrote, it is important that the devices have the same time as the PC, not that it is up-to-date, but since you can have both ;-) Do you know any inexpensive device mounted on the TS-35?

    PS I have a W10.

    I have this pico. Dahua recorders synchronize nicely over the server IP.
    I have a problem with windwomen. Crashes an error. Computers can't access the internet and hence the pico idea.
    Anyone suggest something?
