I have such a problem. I connected the printer via print server. In Samsung Easy Printer Manager I have my printer in the inactive tab, and if I want to add it by typing the IP of the print server, I find nothing. I will add that it normally prints via IP.
it's a screen from my other printer, on wifi and no problem here.
Almost everyone has encountered this. Print servers do not seem to communicate scanning capabilities.
I have the M2070W version, so I can use the browser to access my printer's IP, log into the so-called SyncThru Web Service giving User name: admin Password: sec00000
Turn on all possible protocols and see if it works then.
Another thing is the option to use a router with OpenWRT etc. as the PrintServer, which supports the so-called USBIP, i.e. it would be a USB via Ethernet where you install a soft virtual USB on your computer that would be your printer and the scanner will work then.
You can always sell and buy the M2070W version with onboard wifi .
What's your print server like? You did not provide any details.
For me, Easy Document Creator in Wireshark shows that connecting to the printer, spr. its activity takes place on tcp port 9400 and polls three more OIDs after SNMP. but it's probably optional. During the scan I also have communication over TCP 9400 and nothing else. WireShark doesn't detect any protocol on it or I don't have a plugin to interpret it differently.
The printer panel, the one on the web, shows that it has the "T4NET protocol:" service open on 9400.
Now the question is whether any of the above will help you in configuring your Print Server. Such a T4NET pass through catch would let it pass through and support it. It would do the trick.

But there is probably no such possibility, not my toys ... this is a company and the secretary uses it ...
and the hardware is TP-Link TL-PS110U 1xUSB, 1xRJ45 Print Server
http://usbip.sourceforge.net/ - this is the project I wrote about. For example, MikroTik once tried to implement it in v6 beta, but they gave up recognizing that it is not a stable adult product yet.
