I have a problem scanning to a folder via SMB on Windows 10. Passwords are disabled. Access to SMB is hassle-free from other computers.
Scanning for Windows 7 works fine.

Copier firmware upgraded to "Network Support v.5.19".

Did any of the forum members have such a problem? Or maybe there is an even newer firmware version?

Thank you in advance for any help.

I understand that the copier is visible under win10 and does not function normally in the sense of printing? only with SMB there are problems? Antivirus? firewall not blocking?

There is a list of machines that Ricoh provides, and it lists machines that will not scan on WIN 10 and MP2510 is on it, also again in this case, you need to set up a simple ftp server on a given station or scan to e-mail.

Yes, printing works fine with Windows 7/10.
Win10 computer does not have antivirus. I have not checked the firewall, but with the default settings, I have never had a problem with it.

Usually upgrading the machine helped, but the firmware was back then 2013.
    Here, unfortunately, v. 5.19 is from August 30, 2010.

At https://superuser.com/questions/816560/ricoh-aficio-mp171spf-scan-to-folder-not-working " target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener ugc" class="postlink inline" title="" > https://superuser.com/questions/816560/ricoh-aficio-mp171spf-scan-to-folder-not-working I found information that SMB3 is used since Windows 8, and earlier it was SMB2. That would explain why the 2013 firmware fixed the bug - because Windows 8 was released in 2012.

Two solutions are also proposed there.

The first is to enable SMB1 and disable SMB2 / 3 in PowerShell:
    Set-SmbServerConfiguration -EnableSMB2Protocol $false
    Set-SmbServerConfiguration -EnableSMB1Protocol $true

The second is to change the SMB port from 139 to 445 using telnet:
    Go to cmd,
Edit telnet ip address of the machine,
Enter machine login name and password,
Enter smb client port445 enter smb client auth.1,
    Enter log off enter,
    Type yes to save settings.

When I have access to the machine, I will check if the above works. Alternatively, you can set up an FTP server on your computer and scan after FTP.

Or maybe someone has the firmware for this copier in a newer version than v.5.19?

Network Support NCS GEN (all) D3105384F Ver.5.19 2010/08/31 2,725 KB Download - officially nothing newer has been released

That's exactly what win 8 is, and SMB3 is up there, and therefore it was necessary to upgrade the firmware in each machine before this period.
When I have to set the scan in this configuration, I use Cerberus FTP, so far it worked most stably.

Ultimately, only the FTP server resolved the matter. I used the free FileZilla.

The disadvantage of this solution is that the computer with the FTP server must have a fixed IP address, where the name of the computer can be entered in SMB.

Thanks to everyone for your help.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with scanning to a folder via SMB on Windows 10 using the Ricoh Aficio MP2510 and MP3010 copiers. Users report that while printing works fine on both Windows 7 and 10, scanning fails on Windows 10, with the MP2510 specifically noted as incompatible with SMB scanning. Suggestions include checking antivirus and firewall settings, enabling SMB1 while disabling SMB2/3 via PowerShell, and changing the SMB port from 139 to 445. Ultimately, users found that setting up an FTP server, such as FileZilla, resolved the scanning issue, although it requires a fixed IP address for the computer running the FTP server.
