I have a big problem with Chromecast (2015 version).

After changing the router (it worked on Tp-Link Archer C7) my Chromecast stopped working. I've tested it on three other routers (Asus, Tenda, UPC) and several laptops (Lenovo, MSI, Toschiba) and still the same.

After resetting Chromecast to factory settings I go to laptop chromecast.com/setup and detect it there. I set the name, enter the WiFi password, and the browser tries to detect Chromecast again - unfortunately, to no avail. When I type in the search engine: chrome: // cast / # devices / tu_jego_IP it connects to it without any problems, I can change the settings, but still cannot detect it.

What else could be the reason?

    Additional remarks:
    - I have the network profile set to "private"
    - laptop and chromecast connected to the same WiFi network (2 GHz)
    - checked on several laptops
    - works on Android without a problem
    - I have no virtual network cards installed

Try disabling the firewall. It seems that the "private" profile blocks the visibility of devices on the network (or rather searching for them).

I turned off the firewall. Unfortunately unchanged,
I do not have an antivirus so there is no point blocking it too much.

I thought it was the fault of a particular art and maybe something broke in it, so I went to the store to borrow a new art. Unfortunately that didn't help either.
I switched profile to public and private. Also unchanged.
    I have no more ideas.

    Maybe something on the router?

The topic was explored and I was able to solve it.

Two settings turned out to be guilty:
    1. I set a fixed IP address for the Chromecast on the router - I found info that he doesn't like it. I turned on DHCP assignment for him and it went.
    2. My IP address was set to 11.11.11.xx. When I changed to 192.168.0.xx it all started working.
