I have a problem with the original Charge 2+, namely the speakers do not work, they start to play only after slightly pressing the diaphragm. The coil fell off maybe?

Probably the coil is broken somewhere. Twist and try to measure if there is any resistance. If missing, it is known to be aborted. In the latter case, the core might be too high and not working in the coil.

and no resistance. Only appears after pressing. Is there any way to get to the coil as smoothly as possible? Below are photos of the speaker. He can somehow take off this magnet that looks stuck to the housing (or whatever it is called):

You can try something on your own, but in fact with such small elements it will be difficult to rewind it if you have no experience. I would rather advise you to look for a replacement (speaker).

Oh, I thought that there was nothing to connect there, because so far I had thrown paper balls pressing the diaphragms under the speaker cover and so far it sounds somehow, although there is not too much bass.

Check Aliexpres to see if you won't find such speakers. For a few dollars, you can exchange it and forget about the problem.
Playing as you wrote can lead to a short circuit in the coil (because it probably sticks in a decentralized gap and rubs against it) and in a short time lead to serious damage in the amplifier itself.

I was looking for and the cost of one speaker with shipping is about PLN 80, so it's probably better to recondition it. Only does anyone know someone on the forum who deals with it?

I suppose something is wrong with the cables connecting the coil to the terminals. You can try to detach the suspension from the basket, but it may damage it irreparably and it can be difficult to get new ones.
Such speakers are rather not repaired, but replaced.
It will be difficult to find someone who will want to fix it, and when it comes to it, it does not have to be cheaper than buying a new one.
Look for, maybe you will find somewhere such or similar speaker.
    Maybe one will match: https://www.tme.eu/pl/katalog/zrodla-dzwieku_...s=2%2C591%2C2560%2C36%2C122%2C564%2C601%2%217 % 2C575 & used_params = 122% 3A24824% 3B591% 3A2336% 3B & page = 1 & limit = 50

    Best regards.

So I understand that the difficulty of repairing the speakers is inversely proportional to their size?

More or less, it's mostly about its value.
Simply put, cheap speakers are not worth repairing, unless there is absolutely no other option.
Try again at the brand distributor, but I think it won't be cheap either.

    Best regards.

If they are so cheap, I would not say, the new JBL charge 2 costs 450 PLN and the speakers themselves are 80 PLN / pc. If someone showed me how to do it, I would fix it myself. And the speakers are supposedly signed Harman Kardon, so it is possible that installing replacements will be very disappointed with the sound quality.

They are prone to power, so they cost money. :-)
The market creates demand and demand creates the price. If there was no demand for these speakers - they would have been in warehouses for years - they would probably cost PLN 10 or maybe less.
Recognized manufacturers mark their products, even OEMs. It is not here, so it turns out that the equipment manufacturer is ashamed of the "brand" of the component manufacturer. :-)

So you would have to either soften the glue with some solvent, or try to detach the suspension mechanically, without the use of chemicals.
It's just that in both cases the suspension may be destroyed (dissolving, tearing), that's why I wrote:

Therefore, it would be advisable to see if there is a suspension closest to the original one.

Is the suspension foam or rubber?

    Best regards.

Rubber suspension. And you can't get to the sides of the magnet? There you can see the glue, maybe it could be dissolved. Unless I look for the characteristics of these speakers and choose another brand, similar or better. From what I could find they have 75 Hz - 20 kHz and I think somewhere I have encountered that someone measured and went down to 60Hz. Overall good bass is a strong point of these Jbls.

Topic summary

✨ The JBL Charge 2+ speaker is experiencing sound issues, only functioning when the diaphragm is pressed, suggesting a potential coil detachment. Users recommend checking for resistance in the coil and suggest that if it is broken, replacing the speaker may be more practical than attempting repairs. Some users have attempted temporary fixes, such as using paper to press the diaphragm, but caution that this could lead to further damage. The discussion highlights the difficulty of repairing small speaker components and the potential for short circuits if the coil is misaligned. Users also mention the cost of replacement speakers and the importance of maintaining sound quality, particularly given the Harman Kardon branding associated with JBL products.

FAQ

TL;DR: If your JBL Charge 2+ only plays when you press the diaphragm, suspect an open lead or misaligned coil; "You can try to detach the suspension from the basket." 2 methods exist (solvent or mechanical) but risk damage. [Elektroda, DjMapet, post #17165083]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps Charge 2/2+ owners decide how to diagnose, replace, or seek service without risking amplifier damage.

Quick Facts

Why does my JBL Charge 2+ only make sound when I press the diaphragm?

That behavior points to an open voice-coil/tinsel lead that reconnects when you press. It can also mean the coil is misaligned in the gap, so it only couples when moved. Measure the driver’s resistance. An open circuit suggests a broken winding or lead. The core sitting too high can also prevent motion in the coil. Do not keep playing it like this to avoid further damage. [Elektroda, AdrianHDmaxxx, post #17162051]

How do I check the speaker coil with a multimeter?

Disconnect power and isolate the driver leads. Set your multimeter to resistance. Measure across the driver terminals. A healthy driver shows resistance; an open circuit indicates a break. If pressing the cone suddenly shows resistance, the break is intermittent at the coil or leadout. Replace or professionally service the driver if it fails continuity consistently. [Elektroda, AdrianHDmaxxx, post #17162051]

Is it safe to keep using the speaker with a wedge or paper pressing the cone?

No. Forcing the cone can rub the coil in a decentralized gap, leading to shorts. That can quickly damage the amplifier. As one expert warned: "Playing as you wrote can lead to a short circuit in the coil ... and ... serious damage in the amplifier itself." Power it down and repair or replace the driver. [Elektroda, 398216 Usunięty, post #17163326]

Should I repair or replace these small JBL drivers?

Replace them. Small, integrated drivers are difficult to re-cone or rewind and are not economical to repair. As a forum expert put it, "Such speakers are rather not repaired, but replaced." Sourcing a compatible unit saves time and reduces the risk of further damage. [Elektroda, DjMapet, post #17164300]

Can I remove the magnet or reach the coil without destroying the driver?

Access is typically through the surround and spider, not by removing the magnet. You would need to detach the suspension from the basket. You can soften the glue with solvent or try careful mechanical separation. Both methods risk tearing or dissolving the suspension. Proceed only if you accept a high chance of irreparable damage. [Elektroda, DjMapet, post #17165083]

What does "no resistance until I press the cone" actually indicate?

It indicates an open circuit in the voice coil or its flexible leads. Pressing shifts the cone just enough to make intermittent contact, so the meter briefly shows resistance. That is a classic sign of a broken winding or lead. Plan for replacement to restore reliability. [Elektroda, AdrianHDmaxxx, post #17162051]

How much does a replacement JBL Charge 2+ driver cost?

Community reports cite about PLN 80 per driver with shipping. Prices vary by seller and stock. Factor in shipping and potential import duties when comparing options. If two drivers are needed, expect roughly PLN 160 plus shipping. [Elektroda, vasteq, post #17164173]

Where can I buy a compatible replacement driver?

Check electronics distributors and marketplaces. A forum recommendation pointed to TME’s loudspeaker listings as a starting point. Match the size and mounting, and verify electrical and acoustic fit before ordering. If exact OEM is unavailable, select the closest spec. [Elektroda, DjMapet, post #17164300]

Will non‑OEM drivers hurt sound quality?

They can. The original drivers are tuned to the enclosure. A user noted the drivers are "supposedly signed Harman Kardon," and warned replacements might disappoint. If sound quality matters, seek OEM parts or carefully matched substitutes. [Elektroda, vasteq, post #17164694]

What specs should I match if I choose a replacement?

Aim for a similar frequency response to preserve bass character. Reported figures for the original are about 75 Hz–20 kHz, with some users noting extension near 60 Hz. Match size and mounting geometry as well. [Elektroda, vasteq, post #17166364]

Does smaller driver size make repairs harder?

Yes, in practical terms. Small drivers are intricate, and replacement parts are scarce. One expert summarized that cheaper or compact speakers are not worth repairing compared to replacement. The value equation drives the decision more than pure difficulty. [Elektroda, DjMapet, post #17164574]

Is there a quick 3‑step diagnosis I can try before ordering parts?

  1. Disconnect the battery and unplug the driver leads.
  2. Set a multimeter to resistance and probe the terminals.
  3. Press the cone gently; if resistance appears only then, the coil or lead is open. Replace the driver if continuity is intermittent. [Elektroda, AdrianHDmaxxx, post #17162051]

What suspension material is used on this JBL driver?

A user inspecting the driver reported a rubber suspension. Rubber surrounds complicate solvent-based removal, increasing the risk of damage during disassembly. Plan accordingly if attempting access. [Elektroda, vasteq, post #17166364]

Is reconditioning worth it versus buying a new Charge 2+?

Consider costs and risk. A new unit was cited around PLN 450, while a single driver about PLN 80. Two drivers plus time can approach a large fraction of a new device. Replacement drivers are usually the pragmatic path. [Elektroda, vasteq, post #17164694]

Could a misaligned coil rub and short the amp?

Yes. A decentralized or rubbing coil can wear insulation and short. That can feed a shorted load to the amplifier and cause serious damage. Stop use and address the fault before powering on again. [Elektroda, 398216 Usunięty, post #17163326]
