Hello, the phone has come into contact with the magnet and the touch has stopped working. After applying the magnet to the usb connector, the phone unlocks but the touch does not respond. Replacing the USB connector does not help.

A strange situation. The phone is rather magnet-resistant. Maybe you can describe the situation in more detail? What was it made for? Maybe the phone was used in a place with a lot of metal filings?

I bought it with a damaged display so I bought a new replacement. I put everything in and it worked except the home key so I bought a usb connector. After installing the connector, everything worked, but there was a magnet nearby with screws. When I put it to the lower left part where the menu touch key is, i.e. to the usb connector that I replaced, the phone goes crazy. The same situation on the two original connectors. Is the new Lcd dead?

Often, after flooding, the touch does not work. It is not the fault of the LCD but the motherboard. If possible, put the CDs in an ultrasonic cleaner

I was able to restore the touch, even though the phone still freaks out when I put the magnet against it, but it's probably normal. The problem was on the tape side from the touch of the display. Visually, everything was ok but it was not properly plugged in, even though the connector was fastened and therefore the touch did not work.

Topic summary

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2015) experienced touch functionality issues after contact with a magnet, which caused erratic behavior. Initial troubleshooting suggested potential flooding or motherboard issues, but the user clarified that the phone was not flooded. The problem was ultimately traced to a loose connection on the touch display's ribbon cable, which was visually intact but not properly seated. After reseating the connection, the touch functionality was restored, although the phone still exhibited erratic behavior when near a magnet.
