Hello! Well, my friend and I have a problem with the rear speakers. The front plays ok. Some time ago everything went well, suddenly two at once stopped walking from the back. The amplifier and bass box are still connected in the trunk. The speakers were checked using the battery method, the diaphragm was jumping. On the fader radio we set it to the back, nothing played, to the front, it played elegantly. What could be the reason? Greetings! :)

They are not damaged, they are all sitting, but we will try to measure the voltage and resistance. But also two at a time, why cables?

It now remains to swap the front and back and check because it looks like the rear channels on the radio have fallen.

We will try it too. First check the voltage at the rear cube to the speaker and with the cube on the radio connected the rear speaker cables. I will let you know what and how today.

Ok, we found the reason, there are cables to the speaker on the bent door, they were broken. Everything is working now. Best regards!

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around troubleshooting the rear speakers in a 1997 VW Passat B5, which suddenly stopped working while the front speakers functioned normally. The user confirmed that the amplifier and bass box were connected, and the speakers were tested with a battery, indicating they were operational. Suggestions included checking the wiring for damage, swapping the front and rear speaker connections to test the radio's rear channels, and measuring voltage and resistance at the speaker connections. Ultimately, the issue was identified as broken wires in the bent door, which, once repaired, restored functionality to the rear speakers.
