    Hello.

    Short description of my situation:
I moved to a flat in a row, in a housing estate in Wrocław, where the range and the Internet turned out to be a massacre.
In practice, internet via cable does not exist - the building has never had a connection, and according to Orange distributor technicians can't do that anymore.
The only way out is LTE, but the range inside the building is on phones max 2/3 mb, on a computer about 5 - with frequent breaks in access.
In March I set up a set from Playa together with their modem / external antenna and then the speed was around 20mb, but there were also breaks and the signal was not at all - after a month I gave up because the neighbor boasted that his internet with Orange has a whip and has 200 mb from an external antenna (it doesn't know which one because the experts assembled and doesn't know what it has).
We have telephones in orange and I thought that the internet could be from them.
They offered their Flybox sky, but I read that it's a shame to spend money on it.

I am asking for help in choosing some sensible equipment, because, as I managed to notice by browsing the forum, almost every case needs a separate analysis.
Below are the details of my location:
    51.074348, 17.047378

    Thanks for all the info.

Today everything has a sticker with a symbol, so either the neighbor does not have 200 Mb / s or no equipment.

    What phones do you have?

The best would be those on Android 7. Alternatively Samsung.

Of course, generally an external antenna in this location to Red is unnecessary and the neighbor tells fairy tales. It won't be soon in Orange, coverage is provided by BTS NetWorks at 51/57 Świeradowska St. and Orange uses the common LTE1800NetWorks with T-Mobile. The only chance for faster internet at this operator is BTS NetWorks with LTE2600 and LTE800 Orange and LTE1800NW at Krynicka 7. it also works on LTE-A aggregation from these bands. BTS with LTE2600 + LTE1800NW also at Jasienica 4. Distance to them about 1km. T-Mobile also uses them. You can try to force connection with them a directional antenna on the selected band / bands. Orange is not an optimal operator here, T-Mobile has its LTE2600 and LTE2600 + 1800 aggregation at Świeradowska. The offer is much better than Orange, i.e. no limit for 49/65 PLN with B525 / B529 subscription. But Play has the best infrastructure in this region, of course, this operator does not use this NetBOXA because it does not aggregate FDD LTE bands but a router with LTE-A. And no pre-paid subscription where you can have LTE without limit for 5-15 PLN / month. In your situation, I would take an unlimited subscription for 65 PLN / month in T-mobile with B525 / B529, for 2 weeks testing. DL in this offer up to 60Mb / s and if it is slower, you can go down to 49 from DL to 20Mb / s. Router B525 / B529 aggregates two LTE bands, you will use LTE2600 + 1800 from Świeradowska. They work with HManageren, which allows you to enforce specific LTE bands and LTE-A aggregations on them. Shows BTS CID and signal parameters. You can check LTE2600, LTE1800 and LTE2600 + 1800 in turn, do speed tests and everything will be clear. Alternatively, you can buy an antenna after testing. Don't listen to your neighbors. You have Orange, install the NetWork Cell Info application on your phone and show the screen from the DATA tab. I will show eNB, ECI BTS and signal parameters.

Tell your neighbor that stupid. If you order 1000 pcs, the Chinese will produce an antenna with the inscription 5000mb. And then it will only fall short of my brother-in-law's brother-in-law! Although it will probably be cheaper to take professionals what they say is 8000mb.

My phone is nokia lumia 830 on windows and from what I checked it does not have this application to download from the store.
To make things even clearer: the place where I live, from the east (Bardzka street) is separated by a hill of about 18/20 m. From the north-west, skyscrapers are 20 floors high. That is why both cellular and LTE signal disappears as soon as I move away from the window. I just went out to the balcony and for speedtest I had a download at 2.27 Mb / s, and sending 0.88 Mb / s. But as I mentioned it is orange. In addition, the building has thick walls - over 50 cm with insulation.
The question then arises whether or not without the antenna - as I look at the roofs, probably every neighbor has an antenna.
I will try to take advantage of the aforementioned play offer - I would only have to buy a sensible pre-paid router and then I could test the tmobile. Could you recommend some proven equipment?
    Thanks

I know the neighbor briefly, he seemed fine, but maybe it is my naivety that I do not immediately assume that someone is darkening me.

I'm not saying you're naive. Rather, the neighbor fooled and repeats stupidity.

Why buy a router for testing? Borrow something from LTE and Android and use Network Cell Info for each operator. The offer from Play, i.e. the Free LTE Internet service with no limit on RBM on Card 5 requires some knowledge and effort. T-Mobile subscription with B525 / 529 with unlimited testing for 2 weeks, you can check T-Mobile, Orange or Play on it. If you leave OK, if you give it away, you don't risk anything. The antenna is not just specific after the tests.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around optimizing LTE internet connectivity in a housing estate in Wrocław, where the user experiences poor internet speeds and connectivity issues with the Orange network. The user previously tried a Playa modem with an external antenna, achieving speeds of around 20 Mbps but faced frequent interruptions. A neighbor claims to have a much faster connection with Orange using an unspecified external antenna. Participants in the discussion suggest that the neighbor's claims may be exaggerated and recommend exploring other operators like T-Mobile and Play, which reportedly have better infrastructure in the area. They advise testing different LTE routers and using applications like Network Cell Info to assess signal strength and connectivity options. The user is encouraged to consider a prepaid router for testing purposes and to borrow equipment before making a purchase.
