To fix the problem with the sims 4, I did a clean boot. That's what I read on the net. And when I wanted to log into the system, I got the wrong password. Typing old passwords, restoring the initial state, reverting to the previous version, safe mode, changing the password, "forgot the password" ... nothing helps. I wrote to customer service and they do not reply. Well, I do not know what to do. Help. Ultimately, a hard reset ...
I'm not an expert on Windows, especially Windows 10, but I don't understand a few things, so I have a few questions: 1. Is it about consoles or PC (maybe a stupid question, but just for the sake of clarity) 2. What does it mean: clean system boot, previous version rollback, password change, hard reset - layman questions again, but for the record, I'd like to be clear that we are thinking the same thing. Write what exactly you did. 2. Do you have an encrypted system disk with a bitlocker or something similar (if PC) 3. If the disk is not encrypted - did you try to reset or change the administrator password (there were formerly special programs that could be used for this by booting a cd-rom computer (eg Hiren's BootCD) and resetting the administrator password) 4. Have you tested the keyboard - are you sure it is working. Try to enter the password in the username field (don't accept, just delete it later) just to see if all the letters of the password are correct. 5. Did you have an active anti-virus when it came to the problem? If you do not download the image of a bootable cdrom recovery containing antivirus, boot the computer from it, update the vaccines and scan the disk.
So much for quick ...

I checked ... it still exists and there is even a new version of the diagnostic dvd Hiren's BootCD PE .
includes many diagnostic programs, antivirus and other ... the website also has a howto on how to reset your password ... Resetting Windows Password
I tried similar software from at least 10 years ago, but this version looks quite ..... 'windowed' this is not an official version of Microsoft, but there is a chance it will work ... at least everyone does it at their own risk! there are official reset methods supported by Microsoft, but I will not comment on them ... there will definitely be better specialists than me ...
I can download this image, try it out and describe my impressions ... I have a ghost so if something does not work out I will recreate it
just in case, I suggest making at least a copy of the system partition and other important disk space before you start any experiments.

I checked the procedure described in the HOWTO above. It worked for me. I downloaded the .iso image, transferred to a USB stick and booted my laptop from it. It took a while before Windows PE got up but then I launched NT Password Edit and pointed to the appropriate SAM database (my disk is different than in howto - you have to look for it). I changed the password to a test one, gave UNLOCK (for the test because I knew I didn't have to) and saved the changes. Later, I rebooted the system and booted Windows from the hard drive and then logged into the Administrator account with the password I changed without any problems.
Later, of course, you have to change the password to the desired one and ... ready. You can change the password / unlock the account for any local account. It worked for me ...
