Lighting circuits should be laid at least 1.5 mm/square and 3x, according to the applicable regulations there must be a protective conductor.

Hello, I have 230V, will a 3x2.5 cable be enough?

Let's not go to extremes Buddy Cortiles... What do you want to connect the protective wire in the ceiling luminaire to?

EDIT: ok, I return the honor, EU regulations require PE to be connected to the metal body of the luminaire.

Where did the 1.5mm guidelines come from?

    In my opinion, an exaggeration.

    For lighting, 3x 1.5 mm2 is enough

Not any EU regulations, but our Polish standards.

3x1.5 mm2 is enough. However, I would suggest leading it to 4X1, 5mm2 light points. This will allow you to divide the lighting into sections (if not now, in the future)

To the protective terminal, if this luminaire is made in the 1st protection class.

It is enough, but theoretically the cross-section can be smaller. What colleagues have already mentioned.

The discussion revolves around selecting the appropriate cable for connecting 10 pieces of 8W LED ceiling halogens in a kitchen lighting installation. Participants suggest using a 3x1.5 mm² cable, which is deemed sufficient for lighting circuits. Some recommend considering a 4x1.5 mm² cable for future flexibility in dividing lighting into sections. The importance of adhering to local regulations regarding protective conductors is emphasized, with references to EU and Polish standards. The conversation also touches on the necessity of connecting the protective wire to the luminaire's metal body if it is of the first protection class.
