ELM327 OBD USB Interface: Windows 10 64-bit Installation Guide, Drivers v.2.12.28 & Signature Check

I see on many posts that you have problems installing the OBD interface based on ELM327 on USB. I also fought with Windows 10 64-bit and managed to find a solution, so I share it. I hope someone will need it

Important information that the drivers can be uploaded, you need to turn off the signature check for a moment, eg in accordance with this manual:
Installing digitally unsigned drivers

Then we install these drivers:
ELM327 drivers v.2.12.28
in the standard way. If someone did not know how, then write.

I get questions about step two, or how to install drivers after unpacking?

Drivers do not have any installer, you have to carry out the procedure manually. For this purpose:
- we open the Device Manager from the start menu
- after connecting the interface, an unknown device should appear on the list (the names may be different, depending on the model)
- we click them twice
- on the second tab of the Driver, click Update Driver
- we choose manual installation and indicate the directory to which we unpacked the drivers downloaded from the forum
- they should be installed
Sometimes an additional, unknown device may appear after the installation, then the procedure must be repeated.

And how to configure this cable before and after it?

Once you have installed the drivers, immediately see the device manager on which port it operates - there should be information, eg COM4. You select this port from the level of the OBD software. The software is a whole bunch, probably with a cable you also got something in the set.
