[Solved] Setting Static WAN IP on ASUS RT-AC750 Router via Genexis Titanium-48 Modem for DDNS Service

How can I make an ASUS RT-AC750 behind a Genexis Titanium-48 get a public WAN IP so DDNS works instead of showing a private 192.168.1.x address?

You need INEA to switch the Genexis Titanium-48 into bridge mode; while it stays in router mode, the ASUS will keep getting a private 192.168.1.x WAN address and DDNS will report a multi-NAT/private WAN error [#17380075][#17382597] Call the operator and ask them to enable the BRIDGE service on the Genexis; users noted that this is normally done by the network administrator, and a reboot may make the modem download the correct configuration [#17380109][#17380112][#17382597] The thread also notes that on this device the first Ethernet port is used for bridge mode [#17380075][#17382597] The “Public IP address” service gives you an external IP, but bridge mode is what lets an external router like the ASUS receive it directly and use DDNS properly [#17382597]

    Hello,

I have an optical fiber from the operator INEA. The supplier provided the Genexis Titanium-48 station to which I connected the ASUS RT-AC750 router with the disk. Additionally, I purchased the "Public IP" service, which is active and working.
On the ASUS router I have IP NAT 192.168.1.168, and I would like to start the DDNS service, which involves setting a static address due to an error:

    Spoiler:
"The wireless router is currently using a private WAN IP address. This router may be in a multi-NAT environment, and the DDNS service cannot work in this environment."

How to live, dear users? Attempting to set a static IP causes the connection to be blocked and the Titanium-48 main station is cut off from NAT. Switching to AP causes the inability to log in and nothing works without restoring the factory settings.
Disabling DHCP on a station that automatically assigns 192.168.1.168 does not help. I am asking for help, because my knowledge has run out, and the networks somehow did not turn me on ...

After all, this Genexis is a router, so it assigns Asus a private address. You have to put it in bridge mode best.

Now it has changed to 192.168.1.116 after rebooting. Of course, when choosing automatic configuration of the ASUS router. After purchasing the service, it changed from 77 .... to 109.173.133.4 and it is the same all the time.

But how to do it? There is no such thing as Bridge in Genexis settings. IN WLAN ACCESS I added Device MAC Address, because without it there is no link, DHCP has 192.168.1 imposed in advance, Static Address Assignment nothing happens after adding MAC and IP address. So many of the options available.

Because I want to run the possibility of viewing the camera along with saving on the disk that is connected to ASUS and FTP access from anywhere. Unless I don't understand something.

From outside, use 109.xxx instead of www.mydomain.ddns.com

If you want www ..... com then you can use some free DNS service or buy your domain costam.pl/com/any-tania-domain and add any A record associated with 109.x to this domain.

I use ddns.net and my own subdomain. After connecting to WiFi, he opens the address 109 for me ... as logging into Genexis settings. No access outside the network. So how to set the ASUS router to display 109 ... instead of WAN 192.168 .... and you can connect the DDNS service when there is no bridge? In the settings, DDSN.net downloads the NAT address 192.168 ... after entering the service login details in the router settings. I got lost myself.

    For clarity:
In the INEA price list the service is called "Public IP Variables", so after restart it should change, not change, so is it constant? I was restoring factory settings several times.

In this case, assign Asus on Genexis a permanent MAC address, then enter it in DMZ. Then run DDNS on Genexis.

Thank you, gentlemen, for the offer, unfortunately it still does not work ... Support as standard, only the first port, further questions ended with answers like yyyy, eeee, oooo. He offered me a public IP address service that I have running. The first port is used for the bridge.

    User manual:
bridge mode - the device connected to the Ethernet 1 port gets a direct connection to the external network. There is no WiFi connection available for this mode. It is not possible to log into the device management page. This is the recommended operation mode when using an external router.

So why do I have access with the ability to run WiFi on 192.168.1.1?

    I did, doesn't help.

Since you are to get a public address on the first switch port, this is how it should be. You currently have router mode, not bridge mode, so you get a private address.

99% of this should be done by the network administrator. If he says he did, try restarting the modem, it may "download" the correct configuration.

I got the impression that he has no idea what a bridge is and only says about the first ascent. As if there was nothing else he could do.

After unplugging the router and connecting RJ45 to the station itself, it obtains a completely different 10.xx IP address, but there is no network. Only the LED on the right (orange) is flashing.

After connecting to the router as recommended by INEA, it receives the same problem all the time.

I listened, I did not regret it. It took 40 seconds and grandmother knew what was going on. They had to remotely run the bridge. Reboot main station and everything works. So much time wasted ... life.

Thank you gentlemen for your help.

For the future for others INEA:
    - Connecting an external router to Genexis Titanum-48, you have to call and say that you want to start the BRIDGE service.
    - External address for viewing, for example, a camera from any location or external drive - launching the "Public IP address" service PLN 5 per month.

Most modern IP cameras and recorders do not need public IP. They have P2P or Cloud services.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around configuring a static WAN IP on an ASUS RT-AC750 router connected to a Genexis Titanium-48 modem for enabling DDNS service. The user experiences issues with NAT and DHCP settings, leading to difficulties in accessing the router externally. Suggestions include setting the Genexis modem to bridge mode to allow the ASUS router to receive a public IP directly. The user ultimately discovers that the bridge mode must be activated by the ISP, which resolves the connectivity issues. The conversation also touches on the necessity of DDNS when a public IP is available and the potential for using P2P or cloud services for IP cameras.

FAQ

TL;DR: Enable bridge mode on the Genexis Titanium‑48 (port 1); "device connected to the Ethernet 1 port gets a direct connection." Reboot, then your ASUS DDNS works with a public IP. For INEA fiber users fixing the private‑WAN DDNS error. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17380054]

Why it matters: Double NAT blocks inbound access and breaks router‑based DDNS; bridge exposes your ASUS to the public IP.

Quick Facts

What does bridge mode on the Genexis Titanium‑48 actually do?

It passes the external network directly to the device on Ethernet 1. It disables Genexis Wi‑Fi and its management page. It is the recommended mode when using an external router like an ASUS. "Device connected to the Ethernet 1 port gets a direct connection to the external network." This removes double NAT so DDNS can work. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17380054]

How do I enable bridge mode with INEA for my ASUS router?

Ask INEA to enable the BRIDGE service remotely, then reboot the Titanium‑48. Activation took about 40 seconds for the OP. After reboot, verify your ASUS shows a public WAN IP and your services work. 3‑step How‑To: 1. Call INEA and request BRIDGE on your Genexis. 2. Wait for activation, then reboot the unit. 3. Check ASUS WAN for a public IP and test access. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17382597]

Do I still need DDNS if INEA gave me a public IP?

Not necessarily. You can reach your services using the public IP directly. If you want a friendly name, buy a low‑cost domain and add an A record pointing to your IP. You can still run DDNS, but it’s optional when the IP is stable. [Elektroda, myszkoscielna, post #17378538]

Why does my ASUS WAN show 192.168.x.x and DDNS fails?

Because the Genexis is doing NAT, so ASUS sees a private WAN. ASUS reports: "The wireless router is currently using a private WAN IP address... DDNS service cannot work in this environment." Bridge the Genexis so ASUS gets the public IP. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17378496]

Will putting the ASUS in Genexis DMZ fix the DDNS problem?

DMZ did not resolve it in this case. The manual recommends bridge mode when using an external router: "This is the recommended operation mode when using an external router." Use bridge to remove double NAT cleanly. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17380054]

Who should switch the Titanium‑48 into bridge mode?

Your ISP/network administrator should do it remotely. "99% of this should be done by the network administrator." After they change it, reboot the modem to pull the configuration. [Elektroda, jimasek, post #17380112]

I connected directly to the Titanium‑48 and got a 10.x IP with no internet. What does that mean?

It indicates the ONT port is not bridged or provisioned for your device yet. The OP saw a 10.x address and only an orange LED blinking. Enable bridge on the ONT, reboot, and then test again. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17380322]

Which Genexis port do I use after bridge is enabled, and can I still use its Wi‑Fi?

Use Ethernet port 1 after bridge is enabled. Wi‑Fi and the local management page are unavailable in bridge mode. "It is not possible to log into the device management page." Manage Wi‑Fi on your ASUS instead. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17380054]

Should I set a static WAN IP on my ASUS?

No. The static WAN attempt blocked connectivity and cut off NAT on the Titanium‑48. Keep the ASUS on its default automatic WAN configuration to avoid lockouts. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17378496]

Could INEA be blocking ports and causing my remote access issues?

Support referenced port behavior, not port blocking. They noted the first Ethernet port is used for bridge service. Enable bridge mode first; this thread did not confirm any ISP port blocks. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17380054]

How much does the INEA Public IP add‑on cost and is it required?

Reported cost was 5 PLN per month. It provides an external address for cameras, FTP, or an external drive accessible from anywhere. Request it from INEA alongside bridge activation for clean inbound access. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17382597]

Can I access cameras without a public IP?

Yes. Many newer IP cameras and recorders offer P2P or Cloud access via the vendor’s app. That avoids public IPs and manual port forwarding. It’s a simple alternative if you don’t need direct IP access. [Elektroda, jimasek, post #17382599]

How can I use my own domain instead of ddns.net?

Buy a domain and add an A record pointing to your public IP. Then reach your services with that hostname. It provides a memorable address without relying on a third‑party DDNS subdomain. [Elektroda, myszkoscielna, post #17378538]

ddns.net on my ASUS shows 192.168.x.x as the WAN IP. Why?

The ASUS is behind Genexis NAT, so its WAN is private. The DDNS client registers that private address, which fails from the internet. Change the setup so ASUS receives the public IP, then update DDNS. [Elektroda, DamianWKK, post #17378588]
