Hello, the problem concerns the Skoda OCTAVIA 1 from 2004 with the BFQ 1.6 engine 75KW 102km Gasoline without gas installation. Mileage 190 thousand. When driving a car, it starts to jerk when releasing the gas, no matter what gear, then there is always a misfire on the 4th or 2nd cylinder. The car works unevenly and the exhaust starts to smell like burnt hair. then when the problem recurred, the coil was also replaced. The injectors were removed and sent for cleaning and checking, where no errors were found. Then the lambda probe was replaced and the throttle and the EGR valve were cleaned. The car went to an electromechanic where the engine controller was checked. No errors were found in the driver. Oil, fuel and air filters were changed, high voltage cables and air flow meter were checked. The problem is still not resolved, has anyone had a similar case? Any ideas about what the cause could be. I will add that even when the air conditioning is turned on, the car starts to go crazy for a moment and the revs jump, but the main reason is the constant misfire ...

EGR control. I propose to focus on this. And then you should also be interested in the secondary air valve.

So what exactly should be done with this valve?

Camshaft setting, compression pressure, possibly fuel quality check. This is the basis when ideas run out and there is no need to replace them.

The solution was a major overhaul of the engine.
