    Hello
I have Siemens EQ.6. Some time ago I noticed that every 20 cups of coffee there is information about the necessity to carry out a descaling operation for 20 cups and the amount of coffee in the cup decreases accordingly. I use the Calc & clean function using the original descaler and siemens tablets. After the descaling, the cup counter for the next descaling indicates 199, however, after making one coffee, the indication changes from 10-20. What could be the reason for incorrect counting of the cups? I suspect the flowmeter, but after descaling the amount of coffee in the cup is correct and the coffee maker works fine.
    Please help.

The flow meter is definitely not.
The issue of some error in the program. I suggest to change the value of water hardness.

Thanks, I'll check this option. At the moment I have the highest degree of hardness. It is strange that the coffee machine was working properly before. The situation changed after approx. 1.5 years of use.

Siemens has overwhelmed electronics in this model.
Any such anomalies are not uncommon.
I do not know this program, so I can not guarantee effectiveness, but maybe with a different setting I will "catch" the right coffee countdown.

    Hello
Has a friend solved the problem?
I have this machine not the whole 2 months, I have activated the original filter.
Hardness settings for 4 (although apparently with the filter installed the hardness setting does not matter)
At about 180 cups, he forced me to descale.
After the procedure, the counter for descaling indicated 200 cups.
I did not make any drink I turned off the machine in the morning after starting before I made coffee, I checked how much was left for descaling and the counter showed 185 (no drink was made after descaling)
Is this the normal behavior of the coffee machine?
How much more or less drinks should be done with the active filter?

    Hello
For me it was helpful to clean the foamer nozzles. I did not know that they should also be disassembled for cleaning. I also used the advice of colleagues from the electrode and everything returned to normal.

We do not make many coffees with max. 4 cows a day.
I care very much about the coffee machine, it often dents nozzles and cleans.
It's strange because now it was 157cc for descaling and now I jumped on 164 coffees I'm curious how much more should it take to make beverages with fresh filter and descaling.
    Is 500,400,300,200?

I have the same problem with the EQ.6 - after descaling everything seems OK, but after a few days, so maybe after a dozen or so coffees, the descaling message appears again. I am considering having the device repaired. Before that, I had SAECO, and it has worked flawlessly for years, making thousands of coffees.

Hi, had the same descale issue but managed to fix it (along with making proper froth again)

Cleaned the filter under the water tank and after opening the whole machine and putting it back again as I wasn't sure what to look for, I focused on the removable milk froth assembly in the front, there are three "ports" on the coffee machine where the water/coffee etc will come out, the steam/hot water one was full of coffee grounds, essentially restricting the froth and not sure if the coffee machine picked this blocking up as a need to descale...

Took an old toothbrush and properly cleaned it, perfect milk froth and no more need to descale (obviously I cleared the descale message first)

worth a try and not very intrusive

    Hello.
I found the cause and the solution to the problem.
The cause is milk frothing. Symptoms: less foam and squeaking when you start making it.
    I handled it this way.
I dissolved the cleaning tablet in a cup of water and put the milk tube in it. Then I put the glass under the coffee machine and poured large hot milk. Of course, the cleaning solution was flying instead of milk.
After filling the glass, check against the light to see if there are any flecks. They are small and white. Such rinsing should be done until they are gone. For me it ended up with the fifth glass.
Do not use hot water for cleaning, because only steam will come out of the machine.
After the entire procedure, the coffee machine came back to life.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced by users of the Siemens EQ.6 coffee machine, specifically regarding frequent descaling notifications and decreased coffee volume. Users report that after descaling, the cup counter resets but quickly indicates the need for descaling again after only a few cups. Suggestions include checking and adjusting water hardness settings, cleaning the milk frothing components, and ensuring that the flow meter is functioning correctly. Some users have found success in resolving the issue by cleaning the machine's internal components and using the correct descaling procedures. Overall, the problem appears to be linked to the machine's electronics and maintenance practices.
