    I warmly welcome

The light came on and a dispollution faulty error occurred. In the morning I started the car again, the light went out and the error did not pop out, I drove to a mechanic. He plugged into the computer and checked the errors. Three weeks earlier, the car was already at another mechanic in the case of a leak of coolant - it turned out to be a hose supplying water to the EGR valve. of about 8 errors 1 was an EGR error. the guest said the rest of the errors could be the result of a bad valve operation. And it would be good if I arrived if it caught fire again - and lit it today ...; /

So I would first like to clean this valve on my own, but I'm afraid that adaptation may be needed as during the exchange with which I rather can't handle.

So I ask you will need adaptation after cleaning or not?

PS I want to buy a VSCAN OBD2 scanner among other things to check this valve. If someone already has it, could he share his opinion or is it worth buying it because connecting the computer alone costs PLN 50 and the diagnostics lasted so as not to lie 3-4 minutes together with the hook .... it's not in my pocket.

Thank you in advance for your answers

It may be better to have it repaired, not a diagnosis.
If PLN 50 is a problem, then buying miracles from Allegro will only be a blend of money

I would like to try to clean this EGR first if it helps, it will be something I will learn and stay for me, and if it will be the same then I will go to the mechanic - at least I will try. I just don't know if adaptation will be necessary hence the post in this forum. If so, I will let it go, and if not, I'll try it myself.

If you want him, there is no need for adaptation, but if the ECU is communicating the wrong EGR position, it probably jams on the EGR engine bearing. Known EGR problem in 1.6 HDi and non-connecting plug at the valve itself.

    Thanks for the answers.

I got into the valve and gently cleaned it. Then I hooked up to obd2 removed the error and knocks what check does not pop up while errors with the valve are still visible through the scanner. I was with a mechanic and advised to plug this valve. I will still read whether it is worth blinding him and probably this week the situation will be clear. I think the topic to close, unless someone wants to know if the valve has been plugged or not - if so what are the effects.

    best regards

Nothing of this blindness will be, it's not the old 1.9 tdi.

These mechanisms break down and cleaning may not have any effect. I bought from valeo for almost 700 and it's ok. Cheaper substitutes are a waste of time and money.

If you want to remove EGR and plug it in the property ECU batch then I will remove EGR for free.

The EGR valve replaced has returned to normal.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with a 2007 Peugeot 307 1.6 HDI, specifically concerning an EGR valve malfunction indicated by a dispollution fault error. The user initially sought advice on whether cleaning the EGR valve would require adaptation of the ECU. Responses indicated that cleaning the valve typically does not necessitate adaptation, although issues with the EGR position could arise from mechanical failures. The user attempted to clean the valve and used an OBD2 scanner to clear errors, but residual issues persisted. Ultimately, the user replaced the EGR valve, which resolved the problem. Recommendations included using quality parts, such as those from Valeo, to avoid further complications.
