Hi, did any of you weld car silencers in the welding machine? I'm going to buy a welder for hobby purposes, I want to weld some holes in the muffler and in the car body,
Is the max 90A current sufficient for welding sheets, muffler pipes and car body?
Please adjust the topic. Regulations 3.1.15. [TM]

only this is a self-shielding wire case.

I bought, tested and returned, I know a lot depends on the item, but it was a tragic experience. The wire feeder lived his own life, once he gave it once and he did not. The second thing, the self-shielding wire gives off even more muck during welding than the coated electrode, in my case I couldn't weld because the fog in the basement :P . There is no smooth current regulation, once it burned, it did not melt.

I bought a welder. It is difficult because it is difficult to weld thin sheets. I welded the muffler, made a hole in the wheel arch after an hour of fighting. It is possible to weld sheets, the issue of setting the welder, and two as a sheet is very thin and weakened by corrosion is very difficult to weld. But for the price it was worth the risk. I am satisfied

A very wise choice :D Somehow, I missed this topic, because I would knock you out with a hammer. You threw the money in the trash :) And don't say you are happy because nobody will believe it. Simply put - there is no worse signaling device in the world.

for this money you can buy something better - nothing !. I'm happy because I don't have to go and ask for welding small holes or broken bolts. And that he will use it 5 times a year is enough.
The welding machine has its big disadvantages but but .... Thicker sheets, pipes weld correctly. We know this is not a welding machine for PLN 2,000, so you can't demand perfect work from it.

You would add PLN 200 and buy something much better.
It doesn't even pay to turn into a cylinder :(

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the suitability of a 90A welding machine, specifically the PARKSIDE PFDS33 B3, for welding car silencers and body panels. Users share mixed experiences, with one noting difficulties in welding thin sheets and muffler pipes due to the machine's limitations, particularly with current regulation and wire feeding. While some users express satisfaction for occasional use, others criticize the machine's performance, suggesting that for a modest investment, better options are available. Overall, the consensus indicates that while the 90A current can handle certain tasks, it may not be ideal for all welding applications, especially on thin or corroded materials.
