Hello. I have a bude madzi rx8 and I plan to put a 1.8t engine there but I have a few questions. If I want all pillows and safety systems to work, do I have to leave the serial ECU from Mazda, or can it be done using a 1.8t computer?
And how to connect the meter then, because I know that sometimes this is a problem?

I did this, and while airbag is not a problem, traction control and ABS are not that easy. sculpture :)

Pillows have a separate driver. The ECU is responsible for engine control.

nevertheless without CAN frames proving that the engine is running and the vehicle is in motion - who will guarantee that the airbag works as it should?

Abs I would translate it all with audi anyway so I think it's not a problem. Esp works on the basis of an electronic damper but does it have a separate controller? That the ECU controls the engine, I only know if there was any correlation between the cushions and the ECU. My friend @damdam could you help me with this on pv?

you won't get a working ESP on the driver from Audi or Mazda, so just drop the topic. ABS will work with MAZDA.
ESP has a program that takes into account, among others, mass, center of gravity, driven wheels and a hundred other factors, so implementing the pump with AUDI will be a good fakap system :)

So ABS must stay with Mazda. Good to know. Are there really no options for ESP to work? All in all it is not very important to me but it would be nice if all the systems worked. p

no there is not. unless you do some CAN translator between ME7 and ESP from MAZDA, but I think it's a higher level than expert :)

Could you tell me how it is with the meter? Are there any problems with it to hook it up? And what are more or less the costs of such a swap?

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the challenges of swapping a 1.8T engine into a Mazda RX8 while maintaining functionality of safety systems and the instrument cluster. Users highlight that while the airbag system can operate independently, integrating traction control (ESP) and ABS is complex. It is noted that the Mazda ECU must remain for ABS to function correctly, as the ESP system requires specific data inputs that may not be compatible with the Audi ECU. A CAN translator could potentially bridge the systems, but this is considered an advanced solution. The author also inquires about the connection of the instrument cluster and the costs associated with the engine swap.
