Hello. I want to pour epoxy resin on the cavities in the wooden worktop. The top is made of pear wood, about 4 cm thick. I ordered Epidian 652 epoxy resins and IDA hardener. I have a question, has anyone worked with this resin?
I would be grateful for some advice:
    - how to mix, mix
    - what thickness of the layers
    - how much dries
    - what to grind with
I watched some movies on YT, but I would be grateful for the advice of someone who has actually done it and has experience.

Good morning, regarding your inquiry, I also poured the Trześniowa board with resin, here where the blue resin is, it came out great on the board and the air came out, I had to mill it again, now I'm going to paint it with wood oil and after drying, apply a colorless varnish (only the board) and then pour a layer of colorless resin ( only in layers, not at once) Pear Wood Worktop: Epidian 652 Epoxy Resin, IDA Hardener - Mixing, Layer Thickness & Drying Tips Pear Wood Worktop: Epidian 652 Epoxy Resin, IDA Hardener - Mixing, Layer Thickness & Drying Tips

I would just like to note that this Epidian is bisphenol A and bisphenol F. It is carcinogenic in cattle and causes impotence. I'd rather avoid it like fire.
It is an ideal material for repairing a boat or repairing apparatus, but I would never use it at home in my life.
If the countertop is ONLY resin with PZH approval for contact with food and drinking water.

Ok, thanks, I will remember (and, by the way, the resin producer Ciech Sarzyna recommends EPIDIAN 652 epoxy resin + IDA hardener to work with wood. The epoxy resin from Ciech Sarzyna, when fully cured, is not harmful to the environment, and the manufacturer provides documents in the form of PZH certificates, as well as in the case of certain compositions certified for contact with drinking water) THANK YOU

It is not, provided that the bisphenol polymerizes and cross-links 100%, which unfortunately will take months. And if the resin degrades, from light or temperature, it's quite possible that the bisphenol will start to sweat. However, as a chemist, I still advise against the use of bisphenol in contact with food. Polyester resin will be much better.
