    Hello
I need information about the production of wires. Namely, for how many kg of copper or km, how many kg of pvc is consumed in the form of granules.

It depends both on the diameter of the copper wire and on whether the insulation is single or double.
In the case of a double, it also depends on the number of wires in the cable.
What will this data be useful for?

I need a college presentation and I can't find information on the internet. It doesn't matter what cable, as long as there are any data

This question should be addressed to the wire / cable manufacturer and they may or may not be willing to provide this information.

If no matter what wire, tomorrow I strip insulation from two different wires, I will measure, weigh and give you the results :)

I am sending you the detailed results to the pw.

The content (by weight) of copper in the conductors I have measured varies from 67% for a conductor with a single insulation to 36% for a conductor with double insulation.

The results have a fairly large error due to the accuracy of weighing (1 gram), but if you are interested, please:

I chose 4 sections of wires A, B, C, D, 200 mm long each. I weighed the entire length and then the insulation and copper separately.
    A / Wire 3x1.5mm?, stranded, double insulated
    B / 2x1.5mm? cable, double-insulated strand
    C / Wire 1x2.5mm? single insulated wire
D / Telephone cable 14x0.2mm? with double insulation.

    Results:

conductor --- total weight --- copper weight --- insulation weight (weight in grams)

    A / ------------ 18 ------------------ 7 ---------------- - 11

    B / ------------ 14 ------------------ 5 ---------------- - 9

    C / ------------- 6 ------------------ 4 --------------- ---- 2

    D / ------------- 11 ----------------- 4 ---------------- --- 7

Topic summary

The discussion centers on the production of wires, specifically the proportions of copper and insulation materials used. It highlights that the copper content varies significantly based on wire specifications, such as diameter and insulation type. A user seeking data for a college presentation received insights from other participants, including measurements of different wire types. Results indicated that copper content ranged from 36% to 67% depending on whether the insulation was single or double. Detailed measurements were provided for four wire samples, showing total weights and the respective weights of copper and insulation.
