Hello, the reversing lights are still on when the ignition is on, where exactly in the gearbox is the sensor responsible for it, what is the access to it, after checking the connector and cables first, if it turns out that it is defective, can you unscrew it and take it to the store to show for comparison the car I took it from.

You can drive to the store without reverse lights. In any normal motorcycle shop, when you provide the make and model of your car, you will find a symbol of a specific reversing sensor, and you don`t have to have it in your hand. I wouldn`t start the car with the sensor unscrewed, the gearbox is filled with oil.
The reverse switch has a short-circuit in the wire to ground, I would check if that is the reason, or if the wire itself is short-circuiting somewhere.

The reverse switch, in reverse, shorts the wire to ground,

Very good advice, but the quoted text is incorrect...

    Well, I expressed myself wrong...
... my mistake, because in reverse it should be shorted to ground, and without it it shouldn`t be.
If we disconnect the sensor and the wire is still shorted to ground, this means that the wire is short-circuited ;)

It does not connect anything to ground. It is a normal switch and connects the positive wire to the fuse with the bulbs in the back of the car.

I found the reversing switch, it is located exactly in the gearbox under the battery, about 30 cm down, to get to it you have to remove the cover of the air filter with the flow meter and if you have a slim hand you can unplug the plug, although it is not easy,
it will be faster from the bottom of the car, but I don`t have a channel.
After disconnecting the plug, the reversing lights stopped lighting, so the switch must have failed.

Hello, the reversing switch was broken (short circuit inside), I replaced it from the top using a 22 mm open-end wrench, it`s not easy but possible.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the issue of reversing lights remaining on in an Audi A4 B6 sedan 1.9 TDI. The reversing switch, located in the gearbox under the battery, is identified as the likely culprit. Accessing the switch requires removing the air filter cover, and while it can be disconnected from the top, it is easier to reach from underneath the car. Users suggest checking for short circuits in the wiring and confirm that the switch can be replaced using a 22 mm open-end wrench. The reversing switch operates by connecting the positive wire to the fuse for the reversing lights.
