Try to use powdered dry Teflon in a spray on the moss and also in the folds of the upholstery
The use of WD paradoxically intensifies the creaking effect!

Pissing WD to eliminate squeaking sounds reminds me of impregnating the wood with linseed varnish to protect it from vermin. It is actually adding butter to a dry slice of bread.
Greases are used for lubrication, not WD 40.

It just so happens that I've been working on this topic recently. In the old 10-year-old violet it started to creak with every harder twist of the four letters on it. It turned out that the weld connecting the socket to the horizontal plate in the tilt mechanism has a fracture almost all around its perimeter. After a few days, it completely fell off.

I decided to replace the tilt mechanism, but in China it was impossible to knock it out of the pneumatic lift (videos in which the lady smiles twice with a hammer and everything comes out nicely).

After buying a new tilt mechanism and a new jack, it stopped squeaking for about 3 months and then started again. I suspect that the source of this is either the connection point with the jack again (I didn't put any grease there), or the seat itself.

A few days ago the actuator socket twisted and I fell to the ground, it was close to breaking my arm. After putting on a new tilt, nothing creaks yet. The probable place of noise is this dictionary socket, as the previous speaker wrote, there is no factory lubrication there.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around addressing the issue of a squeaky office chair, specifically a Chinese Allegro model. Users share their experiences and solutions, including the application of petroleum jelly and the replacement of the tilt mechanism, which proved effective for some. However, others caution against using WD-40, suggesting it may exacerbate the creaking. Alternative solutions mentioned include using powdered dry Teflon for lubrication and identifying potential mechanical failures, such as fractures in the tilt mechanism. The conversation highlights the importance of proper lubrication and maintenance to prevent recurring noise issues.
