A problem with a Gerda round key lock, actually only one of a set of keys. All the keys open and close the lock, but one key, when inserted all the way in, turns round and round without releasing the bolts. I've looked at all the keys carefully and I can't see any great differences between them, what's the matter? I once had a problem with a key but it wouldn't slide in, a slight crease formed slightly near the hole, I leveled from the centre of the hole the resulting hail, the key slid in again and problem solved. What about the case I describe above? Is there any way of dealing with this, or is it just left to me to make a new key?

How do you think? The key is damaged and that's about it.

I measured the calipers are the same, so Gerda does them under the microscope? and points what do the keys earn too?

oh yesterday I was at the Castorama point where they make additional keys and I described my case, they will make such a key but it is not sure if it will work. I ask what the cost, only PLN 40. It misses the point.

Since it turns in a circle, there is something wrong with the key release:

It is the one that is supposed to turn the cylinder. If this tab is damaged, the key will turn all the way around, with or without it fitting into the lock beforehand.

This key is empty inside (tube) and sometimes it can get dirty with some debris and it will not open the lock then, try to clean the key inside because it is possible that the dirt inside is too shallow into the lock than it should.

Thank you very much for the hint, I took out a key full of dirty lint.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a malfunctioning Gerda lock where one specific key turns in a circle without releasing the bolts, while other keys function correctly. Users suggest that the issue may stem from a damaged key or debris inside the key itself, which can prevent proper operation. Cleaning the key has proven effective for some users, and one participant mentioned visiting a key duplication service to create a new key, although its effectiveness remains uncertain.
