    Hi, I have been planning to buy an NVME M2 SSD for my computer for a while. The problem is that I do not have an M2 port, but from what I learned, you can use such an adapter: https://allegro.pl/oferta/adapter-pci-e-x1-3-0-pci-emm-2-nvme- ssd-8131117089
    And the condition for this disk to work is NVME support for the disc (http://www.gigabyte.pl/products/page/mb/ga-b250m-d2v#kf)
    I am counting on quick answers, possibly advising on a different drive.
    greetings ;)

    Depends on what drive you buy too. In general, no one will answer you whether the NVMe drive will run on this disc, unless someone has already tested it. Because officially there is no m.2 connector, it does not officially support it.

    It is known that officially there is no m.2 connector on this board, and there will be no support for NVME on all lists.

    The "one more" board already has M2 support (but no HDMI)

    ps
    Similarly, the GA-B250M-DS3H motherboard has a slot for M.2 + 6x sata 6GB / s
    - has HDMI
    - has DVI-D (dual link)
    * has "vintage" VGA / D-Sub

    And if I buy ssd also on m2 but without NVMe and use the adapter, will it run smoothly, will there be any delays or slower transfer?

    M.2 M-key connector that supports NVMe drives. You don't need any adapters.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the compatibility of NVMe M.2 SSDs with the Gigabyte GA-B250M-D2V motherboard, which lacks an official M.2 connector. Users indicate that while the motherboard does not officially support NVMe drives, it may be possible to use an adapter to connect an M.2 SSD. However, there are concerns regarding the performance and functionality of such a setup, particularly if the SSD is not NVMe compliant. Alternatives such as other motherboard models with M.2 support (e.g., GA-B250M-DS3H) are suggested for better compatibility. The consensus is that using an M.2 SSD without NVMe support via an adapter will not work effectively.
