You can`t simply add a camera to SMEG in Peugeot (and Citroen) by connecting it to +12V from the reverse light, because it won`t work properly. In the original Peugeot version, the camera`s power goes to it all the time when the key is turned to the ignition position, until the key is removed from the ignition, and only its image is displayed on the screen when the reverse gear is put in (the signal goes via the CAN network). From BSI, +12V is supplied to the camera via the key, ground, it can be from the tailgate. The remaining two signal wires go directly to the navigation to the white cube - pins 1 and 7
The whole thing requires changing the telecoding in BSI from Rear (or Front + Rear) sensors to Rear (or Front + Rear) sensors + reversing camera. Unfortunately, in some models after 2010, an update of the BSI software is required (ASO only) - otherwise the camera will not start despite the changes made to the SMEG itself and the PDC sensor options.
Changes in the navigation itself are also required, but this cannot be done with Diagbox because it is blocked and, unfortunately, for the uninitiated, the only option is to visit the authorized dealer.
Smeg+i V2 (soft 6) has a camera module in all copies, while Smeg+i (soft 5) only in some (certainly with the inscription "Niv H1" on the smeg sticker). Old Smega with firmware 3 and 4 probably did not have a camera option.
The camera with continuous power supply must be original because myfriend cameras cannot withstand thermal constant power supply.
For a good image in the dark, the H/W of the original camera must be 1.0, old cameras with H/W 5.3 were defective. H/W is described on the part number sticker on the camera cable (silver sticker)
Theoretically, the original Peugeot camera has a so-called video signal. differential CVBS, while the universal one has a coaxial CVBS signal. Therefore, using cameras from myfriends may (but does not have to) cause problems with displaying the camera image on the SMEG screen
