    Hello,
I have the impression that the Omnires thermostatic faucet in my bathroom has recently started to pour cooler water at the same temperature setting, it also sometimes pours cold and hot water alternately at the same setting. After reading a few topics on the forum and the internet, I thought it might be time to clean the thermostatic head, which could have become calcified, and here was the problem of how to get to it.
The battery I have is: ( Y1238/6CR Y ), there is no information on the manufacturer's website on how to do such cleaning, my messages to him also remained unanswered.

Here is a photo of the head itself: link
    1. Do I think, looking at the threaded inside of the head itself, that I should just use a socket or adjustable wrench and unscrew it by relying on this hexagonal cap on the adjustment stem?
    2. Can I then safely soak such a head in vinegar / descaler, use a brush to gently remove any scale?
    3. Is it normal behavior in this type of faucets that when the water flow is not fully open, it is hot and at maximum cool because then it mixes better with cold? In my faucet, I had to turn the adjusting pin practically to the right to get warm, not hot water (adjustment instructions: link ). Can this already indicate damage to the head, or can there be several factors here: such as the temperature of the water in the installation?
The battery and installation are two years old.
Regards and thank you in advance for any tips.

I have the same battery and have already cleaned the head with the thermostat several times.
Unscrew the head with a socket wrench 24, preferably with an extended one, then put it in a jar with descaler or vinegar for a few hours. From time to time, it is worth turning the head several times from the warm to the cold position and back again. As the thermostat turns, I rinse it smoothly under running water, thinly coat the rubber gaskets with something slippery so as not to damage them when screwing in and it's ready, peace of mind for a year.
    Regards.

Thanks for the answer! In my case, I ended up visiting an Omnires service technician (the list and contacts are available on the manufacturer's website), who cleaned the head and also recommended that from time to time work the head in full ranges (from cold to warm) with the stream turned on. Since then, I've been calm, but if it occurs again, I'll try this time on my own, based on your advice.

    Regards

And after removing the thermostat from the battery, do you still need to unscrew it? Is it only what you see in the picture to put in vinegar or descaler?

I don't spin. I put it all in a jar of vinegar. Now I have already bought a second head and I use one and the other is decalcified.

I marked the pin with an arrow that you can download. But be careful when disassembling and remember exactly how it was put together.

    I'm getting along too.
The worst battery I've ever had. The first thermostat stopped after a month, cleaned 3 times by a service technician. Each time it was lubricated with grease inside plus lightly sanded with sandpaper inside.
    It helped for a month.
Now I bought a second thermostat in the hope that they improved something in the design.
Unfortunately, 2 months later it's the same. You'd need a meter spanner to turn the cold water on.
The thermostat was used daily at the min and max positions. It hurts to count how much water has gone.
Unfortunately, after returning from the trip - concrete ....
I'm waiting for the disassembly of the tiles and getting rid of this scrap.

Hi. This is an old topic, but I'm also about to have a replacement and I'm wondering how to set or adjust the knob after disassembly so that the full range of movement is possible. I inadvertently pulled the knob off and don't know what position it was in. Is there any way of doing this?

Good afternoon, I have a slightly different problem. There is water leaking from the thermostatic head on the Omnires Fresh, 3 piece flush mounted set. Unfortunately I can't get to the head. The knob cannot be removed. Safety catch and screw removed. Do you have any ideas?

Topic summary

The discussion addresses issues with the Omnires Y1238/6CR thermostatic faucet, specifically water temperature fluctuations and alternating hot and cold water flow at a fixed setting. The primary cause is suspected to be calcification of the thermostatic head. Cleaning involves unscrewing the head using a 24 mm socket wrench, soaking it in descaler or vinegar for several hours, and periodically rotating the thermostat from cold to warm positions during soaking. Lubrication of rubber gaskets before reassembly is recommended to prevent damage. Some users reported repeated failures despite professional cleaning and lubrication, indicating potential design flaws. Replacement thermostatic heads are sometimes used alternately to allow decalcification. Additional advice includes fully cycling the thermostat regularly to maintain functionality. Difficulties in knob removal and adjustment after disassembly were also mentioned, with no definitive solution provided. The manufacturer’s support is limited, but service technicians can perform cleaning and maintenance.
