Recently, a new free Polsat channel has been launched - Polsat Film. Unfortunately for my TV, it is broadcast in DVB T2 with HEVC video encoding. So I didn't see the picture, but the voice. But in the specification on many pages there is information that this TV LG 55LB671V / 55LB670V supports DVB T2 with HEVC. I started to inquire what was going on. Somewhere on the web I found information that the country should be switched to France, but unfortunately it did not work for me. But the setting to Germany has already had a positive effect and now I can see the picture as well. Unfortunately, the downside is that Smart TV does not have Polish programs like Ipla, TVN player, etc. But I had them installed before, so they are still and work. Updating them will probably be a problem, because they are not visible in the LG tab, of course.
    So my recipe:
    1. Set the country to Poland (General-> Location-> Broadcast Country)
    2. We install all the applications that we will use
    3. We switch the country to Germany - unfortunately all programmed programs will be reset
    4. We run automatic program search - unfortunately the automatic program numbering is probably different or does not work, because, for example: TVP1 is not on the 1st position - but this can be changed manually
    5. We are happy to watch Polsat Film
I don't know if it matters, but my 55LB671V-ZB TV has FW 05.05.70

If the location of the Czech Republic is set, DVB-T2 HEVEC also works.

I also confirm that it works on LG 47LB650V (Czech and German), I baffled myself and asked @ a question to LG whether they could do the order in fw so that they searched for attempts in the country of broadcasting in Poland, they answered:

We would like to kindly inform you that the TV model indicated by you - 47LB650V - will require a set-top box for proper reception of the new terrestrial TV standard.

Where is ecology here - the tuner works without ... it does not need 4k and for full hd they should introduce such options in the software, and maybe it is about 4k that it does not introduce, because it cannot be.

    greetings,

It will do so after many days of testing.
Unfortunately, on channels with h265 transmission, timeshift and recording to USB disk do not work.
When switching to such a timeshift channel, it stops until switching back to the channel with h264 transmission.
Now there is an additional restriction. TV does not support the new PolsatNews broadcast in HEVC in some strange resolution and there is no sound or video on this channel.
The TVP 4K channel is also not supported by TV - but that was to be expected.

Maybe someone knows if this is a hardware limitation or maybe it can be unlocked in the service menu?

Hello, did anyone have contact with LG on this specification is like a bull dvb-t2 included, why is it not in our region, they should upgrade the software because the hardware is compatible
But if they advertise something as a selling point, let it work.

I also had a lack of a Polish voiceover on some channels after switching to the Czech Republic region, you can manually correct the sounds in the menu.

It gets tiring 3 times a day to set the sound manually. Found a way to set it permanently?
edit. I think I found manual switching in the channels tab does the trick for a while, but switching in the sounds tab from automatic DTV to e.g. mpeg from yesterday works on 500+

Lg 55lb650v-zn has gone out for the dvb-t2 HEVC today, thanks for the advice. The software update did not help, I reset the TV to factory settings (maybe unnecessarily), set the location Czech Republic and Polish language, after scanning the channels are mixed up with the whole world, but there is picture and sound.

I will add how I do it for me.
    1. First, it searches for channels in a Polish location.
    2. Record these channels on the pen.
    3. Copies the list to disk on the PC
    4. I am switching the region to Czech Republic or Germany
    5. Scans the channels from scratch.
    6. The result is written to the pen.
    7. I'm going to the PC. I'm running ChanSort (previously downloaded)
    8. I am loading the list that was last generated.
    9. And when the program asks which reference list I choose, the first Polish list.
    10. Save full and upload to TV
    11. We have a sorted list.
Unfortunately, apart from not being able to record and timeshift at home, he observes artifacts in the picture from time to time.

    Hello.
Yes, I was in touch with LG.
    I have LG 42LB670V-ZA from FW 05.05.70.
I asked why it does not work with the HEVC codec, they wrote back that it was loaded and should work.
When I started to tire them with questions, they stopped responding.
They do not want to deal with it, there is simply a mistake in the FW, they decided that the old equipment and if the customer's oils are used, he will go and buy a new one. When I change the TV to a new one, I will definitely avoid LG from a distance, just for such treatment.
I will check the procedures described by you. After 28 months, my tv has a team, i.e. the backlight LEDs have died (almost two lines) and I did not want to resuscitate it, but if it works, I will fix it and wait a while to buy a new TV, let this price madness calm down.
I will let you know what and how with me.
I will not hesitate to write to LG asking why this is so, and I think I will notify the Consumer Rights Office that they are pissing off customers.
    Kisses

I do not remember exactly, but probably on this model (or a related one) T2 / HEVC started after selecting the region / location - Czech Republic. Of course, you will have to retune your TV after the change.

I haven't had time to play yet, but as soon as I check it out, I'll let you know how it works on my model.
And so, after the main topic: someone of you may have played with the replacement of the backlight diode? TV is already old and does not want to invest much in it.
    Regards

    Welcome back.
I checked my TV: LG 42LB670V-ZA from FW 05.05.70 and actually after changing the broadcasting country to Czech Republic, all programs are received in the new system.
I do not know how to receive and scale 4K to HD channels, because I have a weak antenna and not all channels, but if I clean it up and check it, I will let you know.
I am going to ask LG why this is so, I wonder if they will write back at all.
    Regards

They wrote back to me that they could not add such a function in Poland, because the TV did not have it on the day of sale, so it would be an interference in the device's functions after it was sold, but of course I can buy an external tuner or a new TV set.
Of course, it didn't stop them from changing some of the functions so that now they would require a magic remote and not work on a regular one.

I have a problem with that myself. I talked to a colleague who deals with electronics professionally and he said to replace the set of diodes, because there will be a difference in the backlight and the old ones may fall in a moment, but he had a set for about 180 zlotys. I wonder if the diodes themselves can be replaced or if they need to be replaced with straps.
Maybe you are someone smarter and will speak.

I hired a teenager and he clicked through all the channels to my grandparents, you can make a list at your own discretion in the built-in channel manager, you need to connect a mouse or have a magic remote, because I couldn't handle it with an ordinary one.

A colleague did well. If replacement - all new belts. There is so much fun with disassembling, removing the matrix and the possibility of damaging it that it would be a pity, let’s say in a month, to disassemble again because another diode fell. And it will rain, because they are already very tired ... As for the replacement of the diodes themselves - you would have to replace not only the damaged ones, but also the "functional" ones, so that there would be no difference in the color shade and backlight power. And to be honest, Sisyphus is a stupid job. A buddy's advice should blur your doubts, and it’s right. From what you write it appears that ... you’d better not mention it yourself. It’s a pity the matrix. Regards.

I have just recently set up such a TV set. Of course, in the Czech Republic. The channels are going to be set up, but there is a lot of clicking with cursors on the remote control. Magic remote is definitely faster. I suppose it is possible to change it in the service menu so that HEVC is also active in Poland. Then sorting by LCN would work.
By the way, I tried Germany, Finland or Estonia and it does not work.
It is so strange that in the old LGs, after selecting Estonia, OK was sorted, which was not when you chose Poland. But it was DVBT and something could have changed.
I have a service remote for LG and maybe I will carry it in the car.
When the next opportunity comes, I will be able to check. There is such a possibility in TCL. There, originally in the service menu is according to the country and for Poland they blocked DVBT-2 reception. But this channel "Check" worked, therefore HEVC is also for Poland.

    Added after 2 [minutes]:

The second thing the receiver has HBB-TV and it is turned on. ABC2 Kultura2 is working, but TVP-Go is not working. Soft 05.05.90 and newer is not found. So TVP = Go can probably be forgotten if they do not update HBB-Tv. which you can't count on ...
