    Hello,

maybe there will be someone who has such a station installed at home and will share how to set the water hardness.
I read from the manual that the display shows the value of raw water hardness.
I understand that this is the value of water hardness from the water supply network, in my case this hardness is 22 German degrees.
Currently the display is set to 16.
The service technician who started the station told me that when setting the value of 16 on the display and the value of 22 water from the mains, finally after going through the softening process, I will get 22 - 16 = 6 degrees of water hardness. Is it true?
Because the manual still says about adjusting the hardness of soft water at the bypass valve. Where the knob can be made up to 6 turns, which corresponds to increasing the water hardness by 6 degrees.
It's all kind of messed up.
When I am currently testing the water with a drop test at the exit from the station, I get a result of 22. So it means that it does not make you tired.
    Anyone help?

Hello buddy did you solve the problem and set the hardness correctly? How is the result after a year of use?
In my opinion, what results from your analysis above is wrong because you set the hardness on the display in US gallons, perhaps when you have tap water in DH, so you have to multiply this value with DH by the conversion factor given in the manual and only select this value in the softener. Although gdg vs DH it comes out almost 1-1 because I have, for example, results in 3 units using the conversion factor, I have divergent data ~ 0.5 gdg, so I assumed the average giving this result, i.e. you should set 22 on the display.
Then turn the setting valve and unscrew it, e.g. by a full turn, and then see what is the degree of softening. How ok to leave it, how little to increase it, and there is a trial and error method to get to the desired hardness according to your own needs and installation at home.

    Kind regards
    P.S. I hope what I wrote is legible :)

What nonsense... Apart from the issue of unit conversion - we set the tap water hardness level on the display because the station does not know how hard the water is and therefore cannot estimate whether the ion exchange bed is suitable for regeneration or not yet. These are only estimates - if you set the hardness level on the display too low, the station will think that it only softens the water slightly and the bed will wear out much earlier than the scheduled regeneration cycle. So for some time it will be ok and then the water will be hard until the bed is regenerated.
This setting only affects how often regenerations are performed.
However, the "output" water hardness is regulated at the bypass valve - this is where the proportions of softened water and tap water are set.

Hello, the output water hardness is set by the bypass valve. I have the pump pulled out (as if to the back) and I try to turn the screw but it turns around its own axis (along with the pump) - what am I doing wrong?
