Hello, I have a problem with a squeaking LED strip power supply. I have a 200w 16.5A power supply, radio controller with remote control. I have a 20mb tape connected, several sections on separate cables. After adding another 3.5mb, the power supply starts beeping. When I set the color to green, blue or red and the brightness is at maximum, the power supply does not beep. In other color and dimming configurations it squeaks. Where is the cause seeker?

Maybe in the design of the power supply?
Show some clear photos of the interior, because it`s hard to tell.

This is the second power supply, the previous one was 150W, I thought the power supply was too weak. It`s the same on this one.

Does it bother you a lot? Such design and workmanship, and it is not damage.

This squeak is a bit annoying, I`ll have to get used to it. At most I will exchange it for another set. Overall I am very dissatisfied with the quality of this. Weak LED light. Maybe you recommend some sets with a controller, preferably RGBW.

Check for any "looseness" between the carcass and the core.

Maybe some cardboard to hold it in place :) although this is not professional advice ;)

Can I glue it with silicone up to 1300 degrees Celsius?

The cardboard is so much better that it is easy to remove if necessary :)

The problem was solved by replacing the power supply with a well one. I bought a second, more powerful one from the same company and it was unchanged. After prolonged use, it burned down.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a squeaking issue with a 200W, 16.5A power supply connected to an RGB LED strip. The user reports that the power supply beeps when changing colors, particularly at lower brightness levels, while it remains silent at maximum brightness for certain colors (green, blue, red). Suggestions include examining the power supply's design, checking for loose components, and using makeshift solutions like cardboard to stabilize the unit. The user expresses dissatisfaction with the quality of the LED setup and considers replacing it with a better RGBW controller. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by replacing the power supply with a more reliable unit, although the second one also failed after prolonged use.
