Good day. I have a problem on my grandma's phone (samsung gt-e1200). Suddenly (for two days) you can't make calls to some numbers from it. There is a busy signal and the text "user busy" on the screen. This does not happen all the time. i.e. one number in orange is almost always reachable (however, it is sometimes busy), and another number in orange is busy all the time (of course, phones are not used at that time). The phone is pre-paid orange. Numbers are not added to the "blacklist". This is the first time I encounter something like this. Is it the phone's fault? sim cards? operator?

Try it, insert your card into Samsung and check if you can call the numbers that are busy, or move the card from Samsung to another phone and try to make calls.

About 1 month ago in Orange, some transmitters in the GSM band did not support calls or connected at some point.

This phone only supports the 2G network, which operators have already slowly started to turn off.

I will add my "case" as an extension of the problem. Perhaps there is a common denominator.
Play network, several numbers, different phone models, two different clients, so it's not just one affliction. Prepaid SIM cards though.

    Incoming traffic:
Someone is trying to call me. He's been quiet for a long time. Then he gets "number busy". I have nothing.
Caller second attempt. He immediately gets a voice message in the style - "subscriber is on a call". I do not quote precisely, because only from the testimony. Nothing on my phone.
The phone is still registered on the network. Sometimes native, sometimes roaming T-mobile. Range "on the dashes" 4-5.
A moment later, I receive an SMS with the content "During the conversation, the user of this number tried to call you. The last call took place on ...., at..."
    I wasn't having the conversation.

Now my outgoing traffic sometimes looks like this:
I dial the number from the book, the green handset ... I see the inscription "connecting..." and wait for 6-10 seconds and nothing. Then either I get a slow signal or the application gives up making the call.
Second try, third try, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The condition is not regularly repeated. But it occurs frequently, at different times of the day.

I am usually about 300-400m from BTS.

Can I diagnose something on my side, or is the operator running out of its own network resources? ... and it's supposed to be like that?

Not really. Operators will start turning off 3G. In this way, all alarm systems and other devices using M2M services will continue to work, and phones without VoLTE support (be it the fault of the device or the laziness of the operators) will go down to 2G for the duration of the connection. As far as I know, there are no plans to disable the 2G network, although it is possible that some of the frequencies still used in Poland by 2G will be taken away for the needs of newer technologies.

I have the same but with an old HTC phone. When I insert this card into another camera, the problem disappears. It is possible that it is the fault of the camera itself that it no longer supports newer networks.

Huawei DRA-L21. Dual SIM. Interestingly, in the phone SIM1 set to auto LTE/3G/2G, it is usually in LTE mode, and has this symptom. SIM2 is only in 3G/2G mode. You can always call a SIM2 number. Both in Play. what a mystery.

Hello. Thanks for the answers. How unexpectedly the problem appeared, so it resolved itself ... Orange's judgments are unexamined ...

Topic summary

The user reports an issue with a Samsung GT-E1200 phone, where calls to certain numbers result in a "user busy" message, despite the numbers not being in a blacklist. Responses suggest troubleshooting steps, such as testing the SIM card in another device to determine if the issue lies with the phone or the SIM. Some users mention that recent network changes by the operator Orange may affect call connectivity, particularly as the phone only supports 2G, which is being phased out by some operators. Others share similar experiences with different devices, indicating a potential broader network issue rather than a specific fault with the Samsung phone. The user later notes that the problem resolved itself, hinting at possible temporary network issues.
