  • Remote home control is becoming increasingly popular. Legrand offers very intuitive solutions that work well together. In its range of Legrand Netatmo , it has a number of solutions to make the home even more secure and convenient - with one click you can turn off all the lights, lower the blinds or turn down the heating.

An extremely important element of the Smart Home especially now - during the heating season - is the thermostat and thermostatic heads , which can also be found in the Netatmo offer. This convenient solution allows you to change the temperature in your home while you are away - for example, when returning from winter holidays. You can control the heating from your smartphone with clicks or, if you prefer, a voice assistant. The intuitive app should not cause anyone any operating problems. Simply answer five questions and the thermostat will create a schedule taking into account the habits and lifestyles of the home's inhabitants. Any number of schedules can be created.

A different temperature can be set for each room separately at different times, allowing automatic savings on heating bills. What's more - the user of such a smart heating system will receive a personalised energy savings report every month. This report will help not only to monitor and analyse consumption, but also to adjust the heating schedule to achieve optimal solutions.

    Self-adjustment function .
The self-adjustment function (Auto-Adapt) of the Netatmo thermostat uses data on the thermal insulation of the house and the temperature outside to programme the heating start-up time. This allows the desired temperature to be reached at the right time.

    Self-maintenance function .
Thanks to the self-maintenance function (Auto-Care), the Netatmo thermostat alerts you when the battery is low or the heating system is not working properly.

    Open window detection .
When the smart thermostatic head detects an open window, it switches off the heating in the room to prevent energy being wasted.

    Intelligent control .
The intelligent thermostatic head analyses the room environment in real time and adjusts the heating according to the sunlight and room usage.

    Manual temperature increase .
If necessary, the temperature can be temporarily raised in a specific room for 3 hours.

    Temporary and minimalist design .
The Netatmo thermostat and heads have a simple and elegant design that will suit interiors of all styles.
The thermostat is a translucent Plexiglas cube fitted with 4 interchangeable coloured adhesive pads, so its appearance can be adapted to the colour scheme of, for example, the wall on which it is to be hung.

I think the word 'intelligent' in relation to building automation is a big misnomer.

I'm just looking for control valves, because the cooperative has modernised its heating system and installed heat allocation meters. I was thinking of Honeywell controllers, because they are reasonably priced, and I'm curious to know what the Legrand ones are.

Does this kit have heating zones? That is, when any of the heads/sensors request that the cooker be switched on, the thermostat will do so, or does everything depend on the temperature registered on the thermostat?
In the case of Honeywell Home, you can set up heating zones, group several heads in them, buy additional sensors and as soon as the room temperature drops below normal, the furnace starts heating even if the thermostat reads a higher temperature. Of course, all valves that are "above" the set temperature will be closed and the room in question will not be heated.

I have seen many solutions where the only source of temperature for switching on the cooker is the thermostat and if you place it in the warmest room, you may find that the cooker will not start for a long time, cooling the other rooms even more.

I would add that the Netatmo thermostat can be operated from the Domoticz home control system. I personally use Domoticz and proximity sensors at the windows to switch off the boiler when any window is open.

The good thing is that the thermostat can be connected in two ways. The thermostat can be mobile or stationary.

The downsides include the poor readability of the thermostat's display.

What kind of marketing gibberish is this. Some new meaning to the word maintenance????
    Good thing it's not conservation....
On the issue of " intelligence" a colleague has already commented.
There is no information on how the valves are closed. I.e. what kind of actuators there are.
There is no word about security, or how to react to e.g. .... no connection to the net, because the router broke down.
There is no information about predictive control or the control of heat emitters other than radiators. It is not about lighting a fireplace or a goat....

I share my colleague's opinion. Smart is just a slogan to attract customers. I have a Honeywell controller and although they may be newer it is faultless. In these newer ones, the system learns its own behaviour (it keeps track of temperatures) and switch-on times. It is therefore very important not to react nervously to the settings. Even if something is wrong, e.g. too warm, it is necessary to wait and see if the situation improves adaptively. When trying to change the programme, everything goes wrong :) .

I have a question regarding Netatmo.

I would like to install a Netatmo thermostat + heads

How do I do this as my living room is underfloor heating and my rooms are radiators with heads.
If I have mixed heating (underfloor and radiators), will it not work for me? I'm worried about the living room with underfloor heating, will a thermostat connected to the cooker and hung in the living room be responsible for the temperature there and switch the underfloor on/off, while Netatmo valves fitted to the radiators will be responsible for the rooms?
Do I have to replace a thermostat in the underfloor and connect the Netatmo to it?
Can anyone help me with this?
