Dear everyone, thank you first of all for allowing me to join. Sorry for my poor language, I use Google Translate because I'm Hungarian. In any case, I have a Krups EA89 machine that does not make strong coffee, grinding time 7-8 seconds. Does anyone know how to enter the service menu? Thank you!!!!

What do you mean by "weak coffee"?

Dear Roman, thank you for your reply. Sorry, I just wanted to keep it simple in case Google translates something badly :) Anyway, what I meant was, the machine produces watery coffee, not very strong in general (neither in taste nor in effect). I have tried all the various available settings - grind size, dark coffee, water temperature, but none of those produce a satisfying outcome. We use a Delonghi Icona in general, which is a LOT cheaper machine and from that the coffee (from factory pre-ground coffee) is creamy, has got some nice 'thickness' to it and is stronger too. As the Krups was a present from my father, I would like to keep it, hence the reason I am looking for a solution to this problem. If I could lengthen the grind time (currently 8 seconds for dark coffee) and/or the tamping strength, that should give me some extra options to try.

    Thanks!

Is the coffee puck compact or is it a clump?

It is somewhere in between, compact with broken edges; if you take it out of the holder, it falls apart very easily.

    It's rather good.
The amount of coffee in the cup is appropriate?

there is no code for it,

You have made more than 8000 cups.
Replace the pressure head (15€) completely not only the o-rings (4€), this pressure head also contains a rubber inside the frame work
    (not for sale separately).
this also provides foam and of course taste.

    Once replaced you see difference

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Krups EA89 coffee machine that produces weak, watery coffee despite various adjustments to grind size, water temperature, and coffee strength settings. The user, Gabriel, compares the output to a Delonghi Icona, which yields a creamier and stronger brew. Responses from other users inquire about the coffee puck's consistency and suggest that the issue may be related to the machine's pressure head, recommending its replacement to improve coffee quality and foam production.
