    Hi,
    I am new here.
    I've got a GL753 ROG Strix Laptop.
The keyboard itself is working fine but the Backlit is not working.
The problem with this is happening due to a replacement of the Mainboard.
The old Mainboard was damaged (no graphical output).
The backlight works to a limited extent - but it is not possible to change the brightness or color.
See the following picture, is there a possibility for a fix?
I've tried the solution of this thread but, the fw update tool doesn't find the correct keyboard parameter.

Driver or software issue: Sometimes, after replacing hardware components, the drivers or software controlling the backlight settings may need to be updated or reinstalled.

Hardware connection issue: It's possible that during the replacement of the mainboard, a connection related to the backlight control was not properly reconnected or has become loose.

Compatibility issue: If the replacement mainboard is not fully compatible with the laptop model or the backlight control circuitry, it could result in limited functionality or erratic behavior.

Here are some steps you can take to try and fix the backlight issue:

Update drivers: Ensure that all drivers related to the keyboard backlight and graphics are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the ASUS support website specific to your laptop model.

Check connections: Open up your laptop (if you're comfortable doing so) and carefully check all connections related to the keyboard backlight and mainboard. Make sure everything is properly connected and seated.

Reset BIOS settings: Sometimes, resetting the BIOS settings to default can resolve hardware-related issues. Be cautious with this step as it can affect other settings as well.

Contact ASUS support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's best to reach out to ASUS customer support or a certified technician for further assistance. They may be able to diagnose the problem more accurately and provide a solution, especially if it's related to hardware compatibility or a specific component failure.

Without physically inspecting the laptop and its components, it can be challenging to pinpoint the exact cause of the backlight issue. Following these steps should help narrow down the possibilities and hopefully resolve the problem

    Hello

I have a similar issue with my GL753 ROG Strix laptop. After replacing the mainboard, the keyboard backlight only partially works, and I'm unable to change the brightness or color. I tried the solution from this thread, but the firmware update tool doesn't find the correct keyboard parameter.
Has anyone found a fix for this issue?

    Thanks!
